That's a cool finish!
It was done by a Czech woman artist - I've had my eye on the Jolana Kolorbas (came in a really nice blue) but when I saw that artwork I couldn't resist!

Hey! That's unfair! There is at least one great version of that song...I’ll second that and also add McArthur Park (that cake recipe in the rain song) there are very few songs that just grate on my nerves but we’ve named a lot of them.
So tell us more about the finish, I’ve never seen anything like it. The back side almost looks like a lace undergarment.
Well now it’s in the right hands to make it a playable instrument. It is! It took a bit of work to set up and as expected the neck is a little wonky but frets are in VGC for a 50+ yr old bass. I was able to (so far) get playable action w/a couple buzz-spots to address today. Vintage Vox-looking singles are hot and in general it has a good tone that favors the bassy end of the spectrum. Sounds good with a pic/palm-muting.
I have never owned a shirt that needed cuff links.I just told Sharon the other day its been donkey years since I had a shirt that needed them.
Glenn Cornick with a Reverse.
I have a good time playing it. It never gets played twice the same way, which means I don't get bored.Brown Eyes Girl is pretty high on the list of songs I can live without.
No idea what's up with the pickguard. I was wondering the same thing, which initially made me question it being a Gibson. But yes, the video says 1970.Jethro Tull was what I listened to most in my teens.
I wonder what's up with his pickguard in that video. It's got to be a '60s Thunderbird, since that video was probably made in the early '70s sometime.

I know it's a running joke with it being the most requested rock song ever, but I can sure think of an almost endless list of songs I would rather not hear other than Freebird.
I think Bond had an opinion on Cuffs and collars in Diamonds are Forever.
questa?

I get that there are a ship(sp?) load of songs we could live without. However. Our band doesn't play "shows". We play for our 55+y/o crowd's enjoyment. If they request something and we know it, we play it. And for the 3 +/- minutes it takes for me to sing "Mustang Sally", we don't have to give it a lotta thought(no, we're not on automatic pilot-we 'make it our own'). "Wanna hear "Free Bird?" No problem. Puts us about 5 minutes closer to the end of the night. "Brown Eyed Girl"? Packs the dance floor. Keeps the crowd happy. AND THEY WANT US BACK and tell management. And we have fun, too. I've discovered I actually enjoy contributing to people having a good time!Brown Eyes Girl is pretty high on the list of songs I can live without.
