This is much needed in the bass world. Who can even name a bass with tort on it? I hear they will be doing a 3 tone Sunburst soon to fill that vast void.

Happy new year thunderbuddies!
I still can't play my bird... but I brought thunderbird pickups this time at least.
This genre is called ''rumba flamenca'' and this is 100% my own arrangement for this song from the scratch, you may like it (or not).
(The video recording is quite bad I must say)
That accurately describes my slap and pop.Can we just abbreviate "slap and pop" to "slop"?

After 10-15 minutes on the urban dictionary, I couldn't find "nap with the kitty" so I am left to conclude that you meant actually having a nap with your cat...

dunno, as much as I like Segovia, he was classically trained and although andaluz, he wasn’t gitano as was Paco, Camarón or Tomatito…..big requisite for flamenco imho..As a Spanish citizen I wouldat slap flamenco. Personally, if it isn’t in the style of Andrés Segovia, I’m probably not listening.

You're describing another more current phenomenon. which is the concept of "DIY modding". It's been around for decades but the number of products geared for aftermarket "upgrading" is at an all time high. I have a bass that wasn't in that same "MIC around $100 bass", but nonetheless I changed everything on it aside from the body and neck. (and I refinished and chambered the body!) Companies like Glarry can produce a 'functional' bass for cheap (won't go into how they can do that here...) and with targeted upgrades I can imagine it would be a decent playing/sounding instrument. It satisfies those who want something for close to nothing, and also satisfies their DIY "itch" to make their cheap investment into a playable instrument. I say, if that works for you - more power to you. That "Burning Fire" probably doesn't neck-dive.
Definitely not flamenco and not gypsy.dunno, as much as I like Segovia, he was classically trained and although andaluz, he wasn’t gitano as was Paco, Camarón or Tomatito…..big requisite for flamenco imho..
My friend/tech has bought a few Glarry basses to modify for young players to help them get started with a decent instrument. He said one neck couldn't be salvaged but he was able to get the other basses into very playable condition. So far they have held up fine but you aren't going to mistake the quality with a US 7ender.
all righty…..let’s GO!!..three setter tonight P bass decided to stay home..

Been there - done that ... never again. (but the vid was awesome - especially TWGFITW meeting Godzilla!)![]()
Actually, Gibby did do tort on a bass for one year (along with 3TSB), I have one - the 2013 EB5. It was almost like Gibson was trying to out Fender Fender…Tort is a continuation from guitar history - the fact that Gibson never released a bass with tort is a big plus for Gibson.
