Bass tuned well, but I´d like to lower the strings a little more... any tips?

I think I've also seen a tip for the height of bridge screws, so as not to force the bushings too much and not to crack the wood, right?
Front screw higher, or 2 back screws higher?

When setting up your bass put all measuring devices in a drawer, preferably the very back of the drawer.

Lower all the screws until you start to get buzz as you play up the neck, use the back two to eliminate buzz on E and G respectively, and re check neck relief.

I prefer the front screw higher than the back ones,

I always wonder about heavily checked finishes - my '64 II is pretty clean in that respect. Checking like that is usually an indication of extremes in temperature over many years. It won't have any effect on the sound, and I'm not against the "distressed" look as some of you may know. :) SHOW YOUR DISTRESSED FINISHES!
My EB-2 is only slightly checked, and you really have to look at it to see the checking. It was fairly pristine when I got it in 1982 or so, and I have kept it more or less in an even temperature environment ever since. It's in a cool closet at the moment. I should probably get it out and play it. It's been neglected. That's bad, even if it isn't a Thunderbird.

Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats. "I put that [stuff] on everything". Like Frank's Hot Sauce.
Had those too and did like them... Interesting that flats tend to take up a little less space in a mix, which I like. There's a little less "wire" in the sound, more concise. For a rowdy, wooly and aggressive sound that's a cool idea...

Close...

Heaven & Hell

HEAVEN is where:
The police are British
The chefs are Italian
The mechanics are German
The lovers are French and it's all organised by the Swiss.

HELL is where:

that joke is flawed cause there is no way in he11 Frogs can be better cooks AND lovers than Guineas….;):D.

Anyone tried DR Fat Beams?

I do like the cobalt flats, but I LOVE Pyramid Gold flats.

I always say the cobalts are 75% as good as the pyramids at half the price…

For rounds I haven’t strayed far from the EB extra slinky, but I recently tried the S.I.T. Strings in the same gauge as the EB’s and I like them too. Both are nickel.

I do not think I have tried stainless strings intentionally.

checkering looks cool imho…
would you consider this excessive?
