Time to say something good about Microsoft for once

I've been (home) a mac user for years and was obliged to use windows at work. I hated windows XP, vista. I now have Windows 7 (since last month) and I have to say I'm impressed. Finally they managed to do something that works and that's user-friendly

This is actually the key point, I didn't think of it when posting before--the price point. I was essentially saying "Win 7 PC = OSX", but my Mac cost $3000, while my brand new PC was half that at normal price. (Actually I paid much less, because of a legendary coupon thread here on TB
).
Are you referring to the UAC messages? You can adjust that so they do not appear. The memory one is interesting. What are the specs on the PC?
If you don't feel like troubleshooting the issues, I understand. You can just ignore this post.

I have 7 on my AutoCAD machine and it works really well. I still use my Mac for everything else, except for watching tv/movies and that is due to screen size.

I've been waiting for one of my friends to upgrade to 7 so that I can see what it's like, because I'm the guy that they come to with computer problems. They're all on Vista at the moment, and every time they come to me it makes me incredibly glad that I didn't bother to 'upgrade' to Vista when I had the chance. XP is just so much better.
Been using 7 on my systems since the RTM builds. Great, stable OS. I am running X64 on my desktop and laptop. It ranks up there with XP as MS's best releases.
I expect a good percentage of this is due to the fact that it is x64, 32 bit seven would probably run them fine.
I've actually not had many problems what so ever running older games on x64 seven. One of two of them have not worked because its a 64 bit OS, but on a whole i've been quite impressed with how many work with only a little tweaking.
I think that my favourite thing by far is the little button in the bottom right that takes you back to the desktop. Seriously, whenever I get back on a previous OS it drives me mad not having it. Such a simple addition in the scheme of things, but so useful

have been beyond their programming ability. CTRL+ALT D or something.
Everyone bashes on Vista, but without it, 7 would be in the same boat as Vista was when it came out, but no one likes to realize that... just go on and on that Vista sucks and MS did it "right" with 7. Vista laid the ground work for 7.
I do love 7. Been running 7 Ultimate x64 since the day it was RTM. It's on everything in this house - HTPC, partner's laptop, my desktop and in two VMs. Only other OS in this house is Server 2008 R2 on a couple of servers. Unless, you count Android on our phones

I shouldn't even help you with these two since you decided to steal the software instead of actually paying for it. But, regardless...
2) I have yet to find a game that will not run under Windows 7 x64 (I'm running Ultimate). I'm a pretty hardcore PC gamer, and have a ton of titles in my collection, and every one of them run fine on this machine.
3) So change it. You can get it to mostly the classic look with I think 3 mouse clicks.
Of course, it could be your pirated version has who-knows-what embedded in it as well, so you could also just be SOL. Hope you don't mind at the very least being part of some spammer's botnet. And no, your AdAware and Spybot won't find it if you are.

1 I am quite the tech when it comes to PC's I have quite a few builds under my hat, as well as nearly a decade of trouble shooting both hardware and software issues. So although your help is appreciated, It's not needed.
2 There are a number of games that will not work under 7 x64. Mainly games that rely too heavily on DX9 or DX8. One that won't work for me is Jaws Unleashed, many others also have this problem so I doubt it's me or my copy of windows.
3 Nope sorry this copy is clean. How do I know? scanned the ISO with three anti-virus programs. Yes you can scan the contents of ISO files. Also with my security settings no data comes in or out without me allowing it.

Nah, I've read his other posts, and actually decided to put him on my ignore list...
I discovered, with Win7, that they changed the license on how many times you can reinstall it. I used to frequently change my computer configuration, different raid setups, new drives etc. After about the 4th reinstall I got the "call this number (of someone in India) to activate your copy of Windows). So I called, was basically told they would activate it.
After further question about the process found out it is up the the person you talk to as to whether or not they will give you the activation code and the number of time they do is tracked. The only way to avoid this is to buy another copy.
I run Mac OSX on my PC now. Granted I can't run all the games out there, though most of them don't interest me anyway.
But yes, while I still ran Win7, it is the best Microsoft OS I have tried so far.

You're completely wrong in your assesment. Just because you don't believe you've committed a crime doesn't mean you haven't.
Anyway, like I said - we have your email, every IP you've ever logged in from, and your admission that you've pirated software. Good luck with that.
