An email from my TM instructor came today with this PS.

Our library is pretty big, but the parking lot was full, & there were cars parked in the street all around it.
There was a huge line of people waiting at 12:30, so I am out.
I'll go out my back door to check it out at it max, around 14:45.
The local news has conflicting info about using your phone camera in selfie mode.

I made a view box here at work for my guys. The picture I took fwiw was with my Nook E pad. When I tried images of the sun directly it was just...the sun in brilliant blaze. Then I noticed a refracted image off to the side and re-aimed to get that view into the frame. lo and behold it showed the eclipse. I wonder if devices have a safety feature built in that protects the user from themselves? I dunno, it was pretty cool though. I used a welders mask personally and saw it perfectly well.

Watching this on CNN, it's great to see grown-ups, including the reporters on the ground, become little kids when the eclipse reaches totality.
