Trace Elliot 1015H Speaker Cabinet

Does anyone here have any experience with the TE 1015H Speaker Cabinet? My current stack is a TE 715 combo (1x15). I have enough volume but some gigs/locations I'm short of low :hmm:. And I also need the high for slapping. :crying:

The 1015H seems like the ideal solution (1x 15 & 2x10).

The internet won't help me out for now, I sure hope you folks can...! :help:

FWIW: I used the 715x (big brother to your combo) with the 2x10 1028 which was a perfect combo with the 15, especially for slap.

With the combo on top you could listen to the 15 to make sure it didn't have any issues live and I would always get compliments.

The 715 has a 300w 15" speaker, and the 2x10 is 400w, I think the 2 push plenty of air for most rooms and easier to move than the 1015.

I also think your amp may be under powered for the 1015?? Just my unqualified opinion.

I ordered a Trace Elliot 1015h recently through my local dealer. First, there was a buzz from where a speaker wire was touching the back of one of the 10's. Easy fix, but then the whole cabinet developed this nasty metallic vibration noise. After six hours of trying to fix it, the dealer ordered a replacement. It has the same buzzing noise as the first one. Hopefully, it will be an easy fix and I can be done with it.
Also, the horn in the first one was stuck in the cabinet and had to be pried out because it was installed before the paint was dry. Three of the screw holes where the grill is screwed on were stripped out. Overall sloppy workmanship. Just hope I can get this second one working because I'm sure it would sound awesome if it works right. I'm really disappointed so far, because I have yet to enjoy this cabinet. I'll update this review, good or bad, as soon as I know what is wrong with my second cabinet.

So... how did it all turn out? I'm considering this cab but your story doesn't sound like a glowing endorsement so far...

Designed as a "stack in a box," the 1015H enclosure can handle the full power from an amplifier and deliver full-range sound. The two 10" speakers and variable high frequency horn are in a natural band pass, sealed chamber, to give a tight and punchy midrange. This allows the 15" more internal volume to be tuned to 32Hz. Rated at 800W at 4 ohms, it is intended to be used on its own with an AH600-7 Head or AH600-12 Head, or in pairs with the AH1200-12 Head for a compact, powerful stereo rig.
  • That's the official description and it says nothing about a crossover. Odd.
