not all tube amps sag. Especially bass amps are usually designed not to do that. But IMHO you can get a better bright tone, a thicker deep tone and an angrier midrangey tone with a tube head. Have fun with that AD200B. Jealous!

My Sadowsky SA200 doesn't really sag but it has a solid state rectifier.

Tube amps are delicious. It's a reliable foundation and you can fine tune your tone with different tubes and they are built to last for decades (the non PCB ones anyway).
The weight isn't that bad, about the same as one of my 212's. Oh, I'm 53 so enough of the old guys can't move them, and if you have a hard time with it, there is a new thing they have out on the market. It has two wheels and a handle, I think they call it a "dolly"![]()

funny thing is, even though i think that the 300T is a nice amp, it doesn't sound 'retro' to me at all. IME, they sound like a modern tube amp.
Yeah, that amounted to my tiny act of rebellion against the retro thing. As long as it was tube, he didn't compute the difference.![]()
