On my last world tour my label had me playing through PEAVEY heads with modded trannys and kt88's , one night while playing an arena in Kazakhstan my bass exploded , like Ka Bam ! Pieces of maple and swamp ash flying all over the stage. I survived serious injury because I was wearing neon pink kevlar gloves as part of the show .

To the dude who started this thread.

I feel sorry for you man.

I hope through the power of zen that you may one day find the way....

I think that many of us admire this dude. I do.

If he is for real or a prankster - (only trolls use the word troll, imo) - he has provided more entertainment, and yes - even very informative posts coming forth from very well informed TB'ers

This is fun and informative at the same time...the mark of a brilliant performer.

And the far out stuff we are learning about here - did most of you know about the tube powered Fender Rumble?

If I were famous and flipped my lid - I might play around a little with TB.

:D I just took a skim through it. +1 Hilarious. The first thing I did was check the age of the OP (not listed). Ah, youth gone wild (would be my guess... got to be really prepared for that first paying gig!). Classic thread.

just a skim? we're upto the part where we're looking at tri-amping in a rack system using ss power for the lows or 6550s or to get the most absolute explosion in the bass itself by from the huge feedback i want out of the maple ric. if i went fender's 300w and mod it all out it would be dynamite, but so would the alembic showman pre with mega watts and like a 100w soldono avenger for the 12s...hybrid (tube/ss) for the 10s and 15s. thanks for all the troll comments you guys and late comers! idk where to start #lol

And this is why I've stayed - well put!

polite and bass players are rarely mentioned in the same sentence.....

We're leaving towards the end of July to Spain for a week or so, and then a couple things every month till December.
Had to expedite my passport, and really hoping they get the work permits in order.
Still waiting for the freakin' itinerary so I can set things up with my bank.

Asked for a full GB rig, mostly because I'm used to working with 'em.

Wife of Nojj is not happy.
She wants to go, but can't fit in my gig bag.

Polite and bass players are mentioned in the same sentence when your name comes up for whatever that is worth.

I have a slightly different opinion on the thread...

...but that's just me.

Hell, if the label is paying for everything, why not get some 1000w tube amps for the bottom end and let those meek 300w Fenders push the tops?

Boom:

the 1k tube chassis are cool nic link! but the speaker stack ^ i like the folded horns but whoever designed the rest of it had no sense of style i guess. i picked out 4 6x10 on their sides to make the middle of the wall, then 21" folded horns or dual 15x2s on the ends, with a 300w 412x2 side by side in the top of the wall. your horns might not look the best.

Someone needs to make a photoshop mockup of this. It sounds positively epic. Actually, make two, for stereo.

And add this guy, just cuz.
