U.S. Peavey Club

So, today was a busy and good bass delivery day !!
- I got my 1992 Fury. Beat up to hell, but SUCH a perfect platform to begin with. Neck is perfect and I did a set up. It now has stupid low Cirrus action !!!
- Thundar got his TWO Peavey deliveries today, and
- Lobster got his delivery today.
... It's gonna be a good, long Labor Day weekend !!!!

The Stealth Palaedium looks great AND it's getting the Leland Sklar fret job !!!
That neck is SICK !!!! SO much flame down the entire back of then neck on each side !!! Peavey SOOOooo got it right !!!!
I have a drop D on every one of my basses. No, I will NOT play a 5 string.
Your missing out my man

Drop evokes a more rocker kinda feel/ grind outta me

Low D on a 5 makes me thing more in a groove oreintated way

Congrats man! I'm glad you got it, can't wait to see it back in working order. It looks pretty clean all in all...

...pic of your turquoise one please?

Ah man, I would love to pick up a rosewood patriot someday. Mine is pretty standard fare comparatively, but with a couple small mods of brass saddles, a stereo jack, and 500k pots (linear volume, audio tone)

Can y'all tell me which generation this is and what the heck is wrong with guitar center...?

Dude a lot is wrong with Guit C I had asked a NY store about an Axcelerator with a very nice picture. They sent pictures of the actual one with dents all over it. It looked like someone fell over in gravel then used it to get up Yikes. Now how do you negotiate in good faith after that? Still wanted clean one price. I said guy please dont try to sell me, the ones youve played cricket or rowed a boat with. I did write Corp, nice pic is still up

Picked up a blue TL-5 (revision 2, with the "better" preamp) the other day, for $500 (with original hard case). Randomly saw it on Facebook marketplace and the guy lived about a mile from my house, so I felt it was serendipitous.

The sound is pretty dang nice, considering the action is way too high for me, and the strings are very old, and a little grimy. Gonna have it worked on a bit, set up, freshly strung, etc. Any suggestions on strings for this baby to bring out it's best characteristics?!

What's the point of the stereo jack?
You tie ground to both the sleeve and the ring, and having a spring contact on your positive and your negative keeps them both clean when inserting/removing the cable, and it adds a bit of physical security. Frankly it’s a no-reason-not-to must have on my basses. Even the barrel jacks on my foundations and t40 got the treatment.

I had no intention of buying a bass today and then this came up on GC's website. A gen 2 Foundation 5...black with matching headstock. If it had a rosewood fingerboard it would be perfect but it is very nice with the maple. No doubt the link won't work for long.

Can't wait to see it! I don't think I have ever seen a 2nd Gen Foundy with a matching headstock...just the Dynas.
Yeah, we never seem to PLAN to be buying anything while digging thru new arrivals on GC's used site..or Reverb, or ebay, or the TB classifieds on a daily basis:roflmao:
Bunch of junkies...

I am pumped about finding this bass. I don't think I have ever seen another Gen 2 5 string with the matching headstock. I'm confident that the matching headstock will make it sound way better!

Very cool! Do you know killer that would look with black "Peavey Oval" inlays on the fretboard?

Chuck - "I wasn't planning on buying a Peavey bass today."
Alcoholic - "I wasn't planning on drinking today."

That bass is SICK, Chuck !!! I love the sound of those silent singles, and yes, the matching headstock adds 10% of badass to your tone :)

Bunch of junkies...
HAHA !!! SO true, Rob ! I bet GC Used puts up the photos and asks how long til those guys in that nerdy Talkbass Peavey Club snatch these up ? :)

I ordered some ovals last week for mine ! The decals have been sitting on the table until I decide what Peavey to put them on. It will add SO much more character. I added the silver block inlays to my gunmetal gray Foundation S and it looks so much better now ! I'm a big fan of fretboard decals. I have them on a lot of my basses. I like using the black ones on my carbon fiber necks to cover the white dots. Looks very stealthy now.
