I passed on a really good deal a couple years ago.
1984 Peavey Foundation (yes, with the cool knobs and SF pickups), black finish (polished up real nice, has scratches on the back but who cares?), hard case, all for $250. Seller said his bassist friend verified it works. Of course, the neck could have been crap, who knows.
At the time I passed on trying it out in person because I'd changed my mind about selling my Steinberger Spirit. Present me is kicking myself since I'm now after some kind of 4 string J-style bass, *and* I'm thinking of getting rid of the steiny again T-T

If they play good and the neck is stable they're worth more than $300 IMO. Of course anything is only worth what you'll pay for it. But put an old Foundy up against a new $300 dollar bass and I think I know what everyone here would choose...LOL
I'm surprised this one hasn't sold. It's been on CL for a few months. I've been fighting the urge to go check it out. Because if I do, I'm sure I'll buy it. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
Did the Gen 2 Fury have the slant SF?Gen 1 and Gen 2 Fury basses are just really nice.
Gen 1 (ash) is the Slant, which to me is a better T20...a trimmed down body shape, which is perfect.
The Gen 2 blue has that same perfect body shape with the split P pickup.
Gen 3 the body changed a little bit, still nice but not as nice IMO.
The Gen 3 white has the pickguard which is curvy under the pickup instead of straight across on the Gen 2.

That’s a killer price for a great bass! Orinial knobs and pickups are worth that much alone.
That was the before pic, I just went upstairs and shot a pic with "the knobs"
Those Peavey lightning P knobs from you were the final touch to make this bass look great ...Ronnie (Mech) would be proud.
This bass came from his stable about a year before he died.
The lighting sucks inside that room so it doesn't look as good as if I shot the pic outdoors.

The change to black hardware and a black pickguard really helps the blue.
That shade of blue even looked good with a white pickguard and I hate white pickguards.
That Foundation from Craigslist is unbelievable. It has the original manual and receipt. Plus it's the best color, to ME. I can't believe it's still there. There aren't many passive basses with that kind of pedigree for under $400 bucks.
The slant Fury above looks KILLER ! Clearly an ash body, and it has so much going for it. I like the little details like the brass saddles. Very classy.

Those brass saddles are the easy and cheap fix to replacing the huge saddles that come on the Peavey Trapezoidal bridge, makes the bridge work right.
Wilkinson bridges cost about $18.
It's a great version of the Foundation bass, and everything looks built very right, ....a good day at the Peavey factory.
If it was a Fender Jazz, it would be worth a couple thousand.
Must........fight.........the........urge.....(good thing theres not a dislike feature. I'm sure this post would get many.)
