US Cirrus - stacked mid with freq sweep?
Look closely, one of the knobs is stacked. Is that a mid stack with a frequency sweep? I thought the Cirrus had a fixed mid, and the Millennium had a mid with sweep?

The neck-through Cirrus has a fixed mid. The US bolt-on Cirrus has the Millennium electronics with the mid w/sweep.

Also, a lot of US neck-thru Cirrus that came out of the Peavey Custom Shop had the Mill pre (with sweepable mids). In other words, if you see a Cirrus with mid-sweep, one, you cannot assume it is bolt-on neck, and, two, you cannot assume it was upgraded by an owner after it left the factory.
I have been intrigued by the Peavey line of products and jumped in by buying an 81 Dyna Bass Unity (See pick below). I immediately fell in love with this bass and presently hunting down 70s and 80s American made Peavey basses. The real challenge is I play fretless.
My Dyna Bass lost its signal from the bridge pick up but the neck pick up is fine. This happens with the bypass toggled ether way. Im not well versed in electronics but was able to completely upgrade the passive electronics on my Squier. Looking at the board I thought it might be best to replace the board and its attached pots with a new one. Well Peavey said there discontinued. I search on line and came up empty. I put a callout on TB and was told to replace the pre amp with an Aguilar OBP-3TK/PP. So here I am searching and contemplating.
Any advice here.

Welcome. Nice instrument and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
The most likely cause of a pickup failure is a bad solder joint where the wires attach to the pcb or at the eyelet on the pickup itself. If one of the pickups works the bypass switch is working as it should. The pickups go first to the balance control, then the volume control and then to the bypass switch.
The only problems I've encountered with this preamp have been scratchy pots that need to be cleaned or broken pots/switch that took a lick. I recommend getting it working first then think about another pre if it doesn't sound as you'd like. You might be surprised.

Im quite happy with the tone. Its the best out of the nine basses I own. This is my first pre amp Ive seen. I just was a bit overwhelmed with the circuit board after opening the cover plate. There were no screws on the CB so I assume the entire preamp is held in by the nuts on the pots. Ill try to find a users guide of this set up and see if I can dig into it this week end.
I've wanted an all-black Fury after seeing one here on TB. I kept my eye open and picked this up the other day for $129. It's in almost new condition. Still has the plastic on the truss rod cover. The guy in the shop said some kid came in with his mom and traded it in. The SKB-style hardshell case it came in is worth $129 by itself!

You are correct, the pot nuts hold the pcb in, but it won't need to be removed unless you need to clean the pots. The switch would also have to be taken out.
There's also a screwdriver adjustable pot on the pcb that sets the balance between the active and passive settings. There's an access hole in the control pocket cover.

Just a heads up, in case anyone is in the market, there seem to be a good amount of T-40's out there for sale currently. Just on the first page of Peavey bass listings on the ol' Evil-Bay there were 8 of 'em. Happy hunting everyone.
