The seller of the Foundation 5'er just text'd me to confirm the courier collection tomorrow.

How am I meant to concentrate at work this weekend knowing it's in transit. Might have to travel home
Monday night to welcome it,but what do I do Tuesday ? There's a Millennium AC BXP due then too.

Now if only I can get another Zodiac I'm done, BXP this time rather than the EX I have just now.
Well until a Fury or T-20 is up for grabs.

On a Serious bummer tonight.

Courier was a no show. Seller waited in till 1900, I feel guilty as get out cause it was collection only until
I asked if I could arrange a courier. His day off wasted doing me a favour. I offered to do the 500 mile
round trip next week but he told me "that's crazy just book it again" So trying another courier.
Thankfully the seller has been really cool about it.

Felt a top-up to the price was in order before but it's a certainty now.

Wow! what a great find. I have had great results with wax on Koa. The RSB bass in my avatar was showing it's age until I gave it a refinish with fine steel wool and several coats of furniture wax followed by several coats of wax shoe polish. The result was exactly what I was looking for. And you can use oxblood shoe polish to bring out the red tones of the Koa.

Do a search for "Peavey manuals" on Google.... They have a vast archive of every manual they've ever produced. Short story, Forum AX has either ash or alder body and an ABM bridge, like on a Cirrus. The Axcellerator 2-T has a 2-Tek bridge and the body is poplar. I have heard the Forum described as Peavey's take on a Stingray and that they tend to be heavy. I've heard that both are well-suited for rock.

I,ve got a forum 95 the stingray alike and it,s the same size neck as a musicman as I have both.
The peavey has the lowest action even after I raised it due to being insanely low with no buzz.
Great all round bass.
I like my foundation as well,If Geddy had of tried one of these he wouldn,t have played a jazz bass.

On Foundation saga continues.

Last Friday seller waits in till 7pm for a no-show courier. It gets re-booked by booking agent for 19th.
Seller waits again,same thing no show. Turns out it was booked for Monday. Livid by this point.

Now the seller's shifts have changed and he's not available week days,course the courier don't collect
on Saturdays. 770 mile run trip expected next weekend. It will be mines.

I play a Peavey Cirrus - made the first year they came out and am a HUGE fan.

Was speaking with a Peavey rep as I am planning a Peavey dealership, and he said that as soon as Peavey got their new acoustic guitar line sorted out and running smoothly, they plan on introducing USA made basses again. Take this with a grain of salt cause I have no idea whether this is correct. But if it is that would be wonderful for fans of Peavey's USA basses! I would certainly get another USA Cirrus!

They remake some foundations and Im gonna be broke for a very very long time. I have 5 now and cant get enough. My 2 black foundation 5s are my go to twins. I have 18 bases total and 14 are old school Peaveys. I need to get a pic of the whole crew on here.

How many of you Peavey folks are finding these 80's USA basses with necks that seemingly have never had the truss rod adjusted?

I have encountered easily 15+ that needed tightening (with some severely bowed)....including the two I bought in the last year.

My 87 Fury I have tweaked the truss rod at least 3 times but it seems to have settled in fine now but it was WAY out of adjustment.

I had to remove a bit of wood to get at the 5/16 nut evenly, but both of my USA Peavey basses adjusted fine and they play great now!

I've heard from local players that these USA Peavey necks are "weak" and "bad designs", "always warped" ....and I'm in the heart of Peavey country.

I get the feeling some folks bought these USA Peavey basses and never took the basses back in for adjustments in my area....or maybe they just stuck them in the closet and never played them again.

I had a late 80's Fury with a truss rod that also seemed untouched. I had a tech go through it last December before giving it to my great nephew for Christmas. Wow, that thing played amazing with a set up and Fender flats.

I don't know why this is, but I have run across other old Peaveys that also seemed to have never had neck adjustments.

I'm wondering if any of the Peavey experts here can tell me the first model or year that featured the truss rod wheel recessed into the neck, beyond the last fret. It seems to me that Peavey was first to do this, or am I mistaken?
