U.S. Peavey Club

Folks, I've just had an amazing Peavey weekend :) So much went on I'll no doubt get confused trying to relate it all.

Near 2 week back I snagged a Dyna/Unity Koa over in Germany ,it arrived this week. Unfortunetly work was 12-14 hour days so I'd no chance to play it :(Then a friend in England decided to move her 1st Gen TL-5 :) I located another 5'er other side of the country so Gillian planned on collecting that then heading up to Scotland to deliver the TL, 460 mile each way :jawdrop:

Thinking the poor lassie had did enough driving I picked her up from the hotel yesterday. Who said Chivalry was dead

Had 40 Peaveys tuned and set up for her arrival. What a blast it was hearing somebody else playing them,. Wasn't a one way street, Gill had not only brought the TL but an Axcel 4 and her new 5'er. Ever thoughtful she'd packed the TC RH450 head drool

The scene was like 2 kids in a sweet shop

Gill managed about 34 basses and I'm over the moon with the TL-5. Both agreed the Dyna/Unity was great and I'm now on the hunt for an Axcelerator 4:) The new 5'er was fanastic. We've 9 USA Cirrus between us but her BXP Indo was a revelation. No idea when it was built as it isn't the high gloss finish version. Really sweet playing/feeling/souding bass. Another visit like this and I'll be bankrupt cause I'm on the hunt for a BXP 5'er now

Here's the basses mentioned.

Since the G&L fans like to call their L-1000s with Mahogany bodies a HOG, may a present to you, the HOG Foundation. This is the one that closed on eBay last night. I probably paid too much for it, but it's VERY clean, and has the original hang tags, etc. Since bringing her home, I've adjusted the neck angle about half a turn, as well as the truss rod (torsion rod in Peavey speak), and added a D tuner. She's still got the rubber grips on the speed knobs.

I've had some fun trying to come up with some better recordings of my basses. Here's one I did on my TL-Five just a little bit ago. Sorry about the lighting conditions but I gotta keep moving and don't have time right now to re-record. Also a little out of focus. :rollno: Found a fun little track and just goofed around over the top of it.

Saw you playing a DJ5 in the Lakland Owners thread. Very nice playing sir!

Interested -- is there an effects chain is on the TL5.... the sustain and attack are not what I'm used to hearing.

Nice work!!!!!

No.....no effects. I ran through my DNA rig (pre EQ) into the Boss mixer. Channel 1 was track and channel 2 was instrument. I mixed the two tracks down to a single track and sent that over to my Macbook. Synced audio and video there in iMovie. I did use the enhance feature to help gain up the signal so maybe that had something to do with it. Not sure.......

enhance feature in iOS?

Just looking to learn -- I have a weekly mega church gig ... we have subs and a pro crew.. I'm always looking for ways to rattle the subs and stay out of everyone else's spectrum slot

Thanks -- Nice work

That's it. When in iMovie you can use the enhance feature on the video just like when editing your photos etc. You can also apply it to the audio section and it gains it up some. I had the volume full, p/u blend 50/50, bass @ 6, mids @ 7 and treble @ 4. Mixer was set flat.
