Personally, the dots would confuse me. Besides, there aren't many gigging or recording players using the Peavey guitars I own - T-15's, T-30, T-27's, Horizon II. (Well, maybe the Horizon, but I ain't giving that one up, it's an amazing instrument.) But Peavey basses are still reasonably popular and effective as gigging and even recording instruments, so if I started collecting those I'd be competing directly with working musicians. I have an old Epi Violin bass which was mo' debinitely a rescue and an Ibanez MiKro which is delightful, and the ChiComms will make as many MiKros as people will buy. Generally speaking, I prefer that T-40 etc. quality of instrument to be gigging rather than sitting in my office - which is getting awfully crowded anyway. Kinda works out better for everyone this way, as I love my MiKro but I'd prefer playing it at home and seeing/hearing a T-40 being played on stage. Although full disclosure I am casually looking for a Peavey Patriot and maybe a Patriot bass, but those were student models and I don't feel like I'm competing with working musicians by buying those. There are lots of cool, collectible guitars and basses which aren't really in demand for working musicians.

Sweet! I love that walnut finish too. Ideally I’d like to collect a walnut finish Patriot 6 string and a Patriot bass. But no hurry, my office is really crowded.

I love my Patriot. It quickly became my go-to 4 string. The Hipshot extender on the E and the added pickup in the neck position helped make it so. I guess, technically, it could be called a Patriot Plus. haha.

That is really smart. It looks to me as though Peavey decided they were going to come up with a bass to take the fight to the Yamaha TRB, and they sure did.

Briefly, but the bass is in such good original condition and had some history so I'll keep it that way for as long as I own it. But if I could get a second one...more of a fixer upper...I would definitely consider it!

Yeah, the 2nd pickup really looks good on the Patriot. It's almost like they designed it that way, but opted to leave that extra pickup out to make it more of a "budget" model.

I picked up a T45 neck. Thinking about attaching it to the RicRiot. That way I'll have the full 1.75" wide nut, which may enhance the Ric experience.
