U.S. Peavey Club

Oh man... just DAYS until i have my saught-after T-20!!! C'moooon FedEX! :hyper:

Of COURSE though... the closest music shop had a yardsale this past weekend and a guy had a pretty nice Foundation for sale. Had i not just dropped the cash on the T-20 i would have snatched it up!

FL... dude... that TL-5 is one of the nicest basses i've seen on here. I'm not even a gold hardware or 5'er fan... but DANG, it's beautiful!! Score for you!

I just picked up this TL-Five from eBay. Other than the gold plating wearing off the tuners, it's MINT! What a bass!! Peavey really outdid themselves with these. It's the butteriest playing 5er I've ever owned.

Where the hell did green come from? Ive never seen one of those. BTW....I want yours! Come on, youve had it long enough!

IF anyone is interested.. I stumbled accross a blade era T45.. sienna burst with maple neck..

The store wanted $250 for it.. not in stellar shape.

Please PM me if you're serious --- I'll help you buy it ---I do not have photos.

That T40 and that Fury are smokin' deals. Man... I am thinking about sending the T40 guy an email. Yes, I know. I sold my T40. Now I miss it.

I never saw a green one before I spotted this one on eBay. The only two I've seen and played in person where both that trans black or trans DARK purple. Neither had the flame maple on the neck like this one has. The back of the body is very deeply curved, more so than I remember on the other ones as well. It took a while to get used to the narrow string spacing but I'm liking it better than the 19mm spaced 5ers that I've had before.

I know this has been discussed ad nauseum here at TB, but I'm new to the Peavey bass scene. I've really become intrigued with the old Peavey Foundation, Dyna, and Fury bass guitars. I have a Hofner CT, which I like flatwounds on, and I like the Rickenbacker rounds on my Rick. I was wondering what some of you Peavey gurus found to be your personal preference on the old Peavey models?

JesusFreak..

You mean strings?????

IT all is a combination of 6 things
-Setup
-touch
-band/specgtrum mix
-taste
-budget
-bass model

I'm leary of a blanket answer as TB is filled with "I love my" replies from folks who don't have any bassis of an opinion.

I will comment on what goes on the upper end Peavey USAs.. Cirrus (if you can find them) or preferably GHS Light TaperCores (freak strings)

For what it's worth.. most $15-18 sets will work on an old 4 banger (after it's correctly setup)
