Unexpected rarity in your collection

Any rarity attached to two of mine is solely because they're models that are no longer produced but there's nothing all that unique about a Matt Freeman PBass and a G&L M2000. That said I would not part with either of them because they can't easily be replaced in kind.
Not very rare individually (although Mocha / Walnut was not the most common colour), but having the trio may be uncommon.

I guess the most rare in my collection (which is being trimmed down, hint hint) is a mid-70's factory-fretless Gibson Ripper. If I remember correctly, not many were made. Ive got a capri orange late 70's fretless Precision as well, kind of rare I guess. At the risk of pivoting to "ones that got away" I started on a Rickenbacker 3001 that I sold for $200 and a Steinberger XL-2 that I GAVE away in college. Was just ignorant.
I feel my Westone Pantera is pretty rare. I bought one new back in the 80's, and sold it a few months later.
Around 2003 or 2004 I started to experience nostalgia for things I once owned. I bought a couple of basses to replace ones I had sold, and started looking for one of these.
I have only seen 1 other for sale in the past 20+ years and it was in Europe.
I finally found one on Reverb last year, but it was priced higher than I wanted to pay. I watched it for a year, hoping nobody would buy it, and that the price would come down.
I got my performance bonus back February and decided to pull the trigger. The guy only came down $50, but I decided I had waited long enough and bought it. It also came with the original hardshell case.
I am a member of a few Westone and Matsumoku groups online and on social media, and nobody on those groups have ever seen one of these in person. There was a 4 string version, and those come up for sale occasionally, but apparently the 5 string x775 is as rare a hen's teeth!

. I have a 1975 Gibson L9-S Maple body and Maple neck, which I purchased in late 1974 one of the last few before they switched to Alder bodies and Maple neck. that was used for most of 1975 . and yes she is a heavy girl weighing in a little over 10 lbs.

No where near as special or "rare" as a lot of those above, but they were peculiar to me, and I've never seen any of them out in the wild.
I really love 3 out of 4 of them.
A Peavey MidiBass, a Peavey B-quad. and a Kramer Xl8 I edited and added my L2000, not sure I've ever seen this finish on another G&L Bass

This one's pretty rare.

Just 4 were ever built. This black one of mine, one red finish, one white finish and lastly one with a yellow finish.

This bass looks familiar to a lot of people, what could it be? This is the type of bass played by Rick Huxley Bass Player in the Dave Clark Five, a 1962 VOX Symphonic bass.

Not super rare, per se, but definitely long-discontinued and uniquely modded. Sounds and plays amazing.
Squier VM P5, found back during COVID online at a small store in SC. Incredibly, it was being sold as a NOS item. Mods done by myself or my tech:
- factory tort PG
- addition of Fender humbucker in bridge position (same pickup found in the old Precision Deluxe 5 and the Roscoe Beck basses)
- '62 Jazz-style V/T stack knobs
- new pots/Puretone jack/capacitor and copper shielding
- Hipshot Kickass bridge

I’ve got no idea , but I know of two Riverhead basses here in Halifax. The other is a Jupiter.
I will second the Yamaha Attitude Custom.
When Yamaha decided to work with Billy Sheehan and make a bass for him to replace his original Fender Precision "Wife" Bass, they made a Yamaha Attitude Ltd, an Attitude Deluxe, an Attitude Custom and an Attitude Standard.
Billy has been endorsing and playing his LTD models version 1, version 2 and version 3 since 1990, they are made in low production quantities all these years and they are expensive.
The Attitude Std, Attitude Custom and and Attitude Deluxe disappeared after Yamaha made very, very few of them in 1990/1991.
Those models did not sell well because all the Billy fans only wanted the Ltd version because that's what Billy plays.
I have an Attitude Custom and an Attitude Standard from 1990/91 and I could not care less if they are what Billy plays, they are just great basses that I bought for way, way too little money and I am thrilled to have them.
There are very few Attitude Customs and I think this is the least common color.
Not only does it have a split P pickup as shown, it also has a Dimarzio X2N-B humbucker sitting under the pickguard at the neck heel, and it also has a piezo pickup under each bridge saddle. This bass has a Mono/Stereo selector on the backplate to allow for sending the P pickup and Dimarzio humbucker woofer pickup to separate amps.
Best feeling neck I've ever put my hands on, the rest of the goodies are just icing on the cake.

I think I have seen your bass on Youtube.
The picture you posted is my bass above taken several years ago on the front porch of my last home.
I obviously changed the pickguard to black before taking the picture posted above (at my current home).
I also removed Billy's signature because I really hate to see a bass body defaced with a Sharpie Marker.
