Also, Grateful Dead keyboardist Brent Mydland was part of a country rock group called Silver, whose biggest hit was Wham Bam in 1976. Mydland also played on the Bob Dylan album Down In The Groove.

Mydland died of an accidental drug overdose in 1990.

According to Pete Townshend, the riff used in the verses of "Substitute" was derived from a single by Robb Storme and The Whispers called "Where Is My Girl".

While the band Talking Heads took their name as a reference to TV newscasters who are referred to as talking heads, Radiohead took their name from a Talking Heads song called "Radio Head" from their True Stores album. Before they were Radiohead, the band was named On a Friday. On a Friday signed a six-album recording contract with EMI Records. At EMI's request, the band changed their name and chose "Radiohead".
