If anyone missed out on the Aguilar DB112NT (monster green) deal on Amazon:

I ordered one, but I need a cab like I need a hole in the head. I'd be potentially interested in trading it for a decent smallish combo. Let me know. (Assuming this deal actually goes through. We'll know in October I guess :D)

A year or two ago I got one of the crazy deals with the black DB112 can't remember exact price but from what I recall it was around $340-350 or so. After it shipped I started getting buyer's remorse since I had a great rig already and also GAS'ing for a bass at that time, so instead of killing the deal price and returning it to amazon, I put her up on TB for how much I got it for and asked only for shipping cost. It was still spanking new and i didn't even open the package.. Obviously it sold.

Funny thing though - the buyer actually decided to sell it - since I was in a better position, I wanted to get her back hoping to get it back the same price + cost of shipping, which I offered........ Nope - a profit was more desireable and it was sold at a good percentage over what was paid. Oh well - i took it kinda personal but I'm well over It now.

Me too. I'm going to sell my combos instead and get a head for these. I can go 1x12 or 2, whatever is called for. I have only been playing at temple for the last year but have open club gigs waiting once my band gets it together, so if these ship, it will be perfect timing. :)

On the topic of whether or not we are going to get these...Here is my theory:

I track a decent amount of stuff. When something drops substantially and I pull the trigger, in many cases he price will shoot right back up after the initial purchase. This let's me know that they are perhaps "testing" the price, or the particular item hasn't sold in a long time and there is a few left.

Now, Amazon has a very sophisticated inventory management system, powered IMO by stagnant inventory that the system is programmed to move if it is sitting. Presumably, these are below cost, but it is worth it to them to purge the inventory if it is taking up valuable space in the warehouse, not to mention how long could they possibly keep the there for? Forever if no one buys them? Doubtful. I don't believe that their system just goes haywire and we all got lucky to happen upon this low price when it's CPU short circuited. These products are also not priced by hand if they are sold by Amazon. The PLU is likely entered into the system with key data components, and the system is probably mostly automated, and hands off after data entry or stocking of product.

Now, to the matter of the back ordered status...it is possible that they had 40 or so on order and then made the decision to not carry them anymore or a variety of reasons. If this indeed was a grave mistake, would we not have heard about it by now?
