Sounds great!!! Nice job.
How about a dual fifth gear. ?
Maybe have one at the beginning and the end? Or stack them!!!
I'd be very interested in a dual fifth gear! Even wth a V1 on the way.
The Fifth Gear is just so damn good as boost. Sounds fantastic on its own and I can see why some would have two on their board. This is my most recent setup and I really can't see a reason to change it anytime soon. Fifth gear feeding either the Bearfoot Blueberry or Smallsound/Bigsound Mini.
For those who have tried the Blueberry, it can be described as a bit dark. I play with flatwounds and usually a pick but the Fifth Gear adds extra sparkle and harmonics to it that it sounds like perfection to me. The audio is Fifth Gear >> Blueberry.

Yeah the 5th gear with a Pbass and flats is really cool. It almost inverts the tone. By that I mean, my Pbass with Chrome flats sounds nice and round and crispy. When I engage the 5th gear, it gets a more mid-focused sound, which really works well on this type of bass. It's really great if you want your Pbass more forward in a mix. I barely dial mine up - probably 9 or 10 o clock at most. I still use the V1.
Agreed. Fifth Gear -> Mini is bloody awesome.
Sold out and not even a work days time has passed. Definitely praised by quite a few on here. Congrats to you guys and thanks for making these available! I think a v1 into a v2 would actually be the shizz but what do I know?
Thanks also to the guys that answered my question about the PPB. I'm really enjoying it with my pbass through a v4b. I'm interested to see what the Fifth Gear brings differently and perhaps how the pedals interact. Blindrabbit, is this the original box for that double v1 Fifth Gear?

For sure. It reminds me of the girl in Deathproof as she screams right before he parks the car on her face and peels out. A great/sly nod to the car graphic on the v2 perhaps?
This is exactly how I run mine too! The mini with the FG is all kinds of tone and crunch on guitar. One of those sounds that is in no way "amp like" but is so so good.So excited to try this!
For reals. The voltage bias from the Mini plus the "sparkle & shine" from the Fifth Gear = insane. This is exactly how I run mine too! The mini with the FG is all kinds of tone and crunch on guitar. One of those sounds that is in no way "amp like" but is so so good.
Received my new (to me) fifth gear v1 from fellow TB'er Johno, and was able to play around with it some on my board. Man does this thing sound amazing! It can get a lot more grit than I thought it would be able to, which is great. I think it sounds good on its own, and was exactly what I've been looking for - a little something to add a little grind to my sound. Since I only play in church, I didn't want something too crazy, and this pedal is awesome.
As of right now, the sweet spot for me is around 9-11 o'clock.
Very much agreed.mine is on the way!!
Hamish seems to be really nice guy![]()
