UPS/USPS lost my bass

I have sent basses through this UPS store before with USPS click and ship. I have all tracking information. The UPS and USPS locations are 2 miles apart and this is a medium small town. I smell foul play.

Check with your local pawn shops just in case. Do it now as they have to hold all items they buy for 30 days just in case it's stolen. File a possible theft report with the police. Hope you have the serial number of the bass and proof of ownership.

When I buy stuff on Ebay that is shipped via USPS there is always a tracking number, but probably half of the tracking numbers never have actual progress listed even after the item is received. I think it depends on the Post Office. Never, never, never ship anything over a few bucks without insurance.

I'm confused. The UPS store doesn't ship anything through USPS, unless you went through one of those mailbox stores that ship through UPS, Fedex and USPS.

I'm curious too, did you insure it? If you did there shouldn't be a problem. It might take a while and be a hassle but if they lost it, they owe you.

This is why I personally pack my own basses and print out a label at home. Then I just drop it off wherever I'm shipping it.

Invalid Link Removed and Invalid Link Removed both use USPS as a final carrier. Can't say for sure if you can/cannot get this service through a UPS store, but I've had quite a few packages delivered to me this way.

Oh that's right. I forgot about those services. But usually the item gets shipped through Fedex or UPS until it hits the central hub in the buyer's area and THEN it's handed off to USPS. I've never heard of it being handed over to USPS directly from the UPS store without having ever been on a UPS truck.

My mistake, I read it as it was shipped UPS to USPS not that it went direct to USPS.
