UPS/USPS lost my bass

The UPS store would have given him a receipt...that's who he paid.

No doubt this is messy, because if the USPS never owns up to receiving the package, then the UPS store may be responsible. Hopefully they have some way to verify the bass was picked up.

I had a similar issue with a package lost with UPS SurePost. UPS had a record of giving package to USPS, USPS had no record of receiving it. Totally impossible to get either part to take responsibility for the situation. Thankfully it was something I had purchased through Amazon, so they just sent me a replacement.

Two months later the original package shows up, no explanations.

On the upside, I now have TWO Neotech accordion straps. :)

Cool! Have you ever considered getting a fretless accordion? :roflmao:

When something goes wrong, is it possible to ask a question on this forum anymore without being attacked? I'm beginning to wonder if long term bass playing is harmful to your personality...

I hope the OP finds a resolution here. There are a range of possibilities as to what went wrong. In a small-ish town, such as where I live, a shipping store really relies heavily on its reputation. I would think that there is little risk that the shipper who packed the bass has done anything wrong. Hopefully, he has a record of handing it off to USPS. As has been said, USPS tracking is worthless. The tracking info might show up after the bass is delivered. It is also possible that, even though it has been almost three weeks, that the bass will eventually show up at its destination.

I did find it funny that a guy who "works in shipping" dropped by with a trolling post to blame the OP because his bass got lost during shipment.

Well this may be true but we are talking about someone that is a long time member of this forum with a good reputation...I doubt he is up to shenanigans.
Not to mention that saying as much about him is IMHO worse than what he's saying since he at least claims to have paperwork backing him up.... Those in this thread accusing him of lying do not

I sold my Carvin XB75P on evilbay on 9/21. Luckily, the local UPS store had a box, since music stores around me have stopped selling or giving them to customers. on 9/22 I paid $20 for the box and packaging and the UPS store worker packed it for me. The manager at the UPS store claims that he personally handed it to the USPS letter carrier on 9/23. However, there is no record of it being scanned in at the local USPS office. I have made more than a dozen calls to USPS customer service and call centers, and visited the local USPS office twice and spoken face to face with supervisors. No one will call me back.

Any suggestions? Law enforcement? Lawyer?

Got any proof that you actually owned said instrument?

Did you leave without a receipt? If so, why?

It appears harmful to reading comprehension at the least.

I really don't understand those who suggest the OP is lying though. Can someone explain what you think his motivation for doing that would be? I gotta hear this....

Mine is playing a xylophone, so I don't know what you're complaining about... :)

Could be worse...
