Valentines Day date advice

I do not agree with getting roses. In today's highly literal world, roses mean love. ANYTHING that even remotely might make her think that you love her already is a big mistake IMO.

Like I said before, play it cool - flowers (non roses) and a card are fine. That will be enough to make her melt. Anything more is desperate at this point (3rd date). Don't over think it - just have fun.

I was not planning on getting her a huge box of Russell Stovers, however perhaps just a littler variety box. That along with a single rose and a card may be just perfect. I do like the scarf idea and her wearing it however it could also be a hit or miss if it does not match or some women don't like men buying them clothing items. Plus it would probably be presented in a bag like a present...a little over the top for the third date?

I don't know if she has ha fever ha ha...typically that is a rare question that I would ask on dates, now if in a relationship of course.

You are over-thinking this. Just worry about getting your banoodle wet.

Also, Russell Stover sucks. 6-8 truffles from a real chocolate/candy place or skip it.

I gave a scarf to an old girlfriend once. It looked great on her, but I never saw her wear it more than once or twice. IMHO, clothing isn't something you do unless she has specifically pointed out something beforehand.

My wife hates getting flowers. I tried once and was greeted with a wincing smile. Thought I struck out with the type. Tried again later, and she said, "I hate flowers. I know you mean well, but they are a waste of money, and I'd rather have something small and permanent," (vs. temporary...See Also: flowers).

Nowadays I bust out the ole' colored pencils and our kids' crayons, and I make her "coupons" that she can redeem for things such as:

1. 10 minute foot rub
2. I'll do the dishes tonight
3. I'll do the laundry this weekend
4. Dinner at your favorite restaurant
etc, etc, etc....

I usually make 12 coupons (one for each month, though there is no limitation). She loves them.

Unless you have a powder blue suit and a shirt with ruffles.

Ok, I've had my fun. Now back to the OP's subject... It's your 3rd date; it only happens to be on Valentine's Day. Don't overly stress yourself out. Just take it easy & be yourselves. You can get her something nice, not too extravagant. (Who knows, maybe in her mind she's hoping you don't overdo it. That's just a complete guess though.)
