Vegetarian Club Anyone?

I've been one for 4 months now :) generally had the realisation that my appetite wasn't worth an animals' death. Plus you get minimal calories and can eat all the crud you want

Down like a clown, Charlie Brown...been veg since I was 7 years old. Gotta say it, though: PETA are horrible people.

And... partially agreed. They've got some really good (yet unconventional) ideas.

Sometimes their approach is extreme, but compared to what happens in the meat/fur/anything animal related business it's nothing. My thoughts on them are that if it comes down to it, i would support them, but as somewhat of a pacifist myself, an eye for an eye (which is a bit like what they do) gets you nowhere.

I feel like sometimes they try the approach of (in a different situation) 'if they call me names, im going to call them names too. and maybe theyll stop'

I certainly don't agree with many of PETAs tactics, but I do think they do far more good for animals than almost anybody. They organized a campaign that pressured McDonalds to totally revamp their slaughter methods and the way they treat animals in general. That alone has done a tremendous amount of good for animals and is worth supporting.

I'm a registered PETA supporter. *Hides*

well i'd just like to point out i already made a thread for vegetarian thread... do a search peoples! and also i'd join the bacon club... i love my facon bacon

sorry, i did a search just now again (i did before creating the thread) and i had to put your name in as well to find it even then, so no hard feelings.

I see your thread is pretty full of argument...obviously not what you intended. You're welcome here if you wish :D

I learned last year that there are creatures known as fruitarians in existence. They will not cook anything, eat anything that has been cooked, or eat anything that has lived. Now that REALLY narrows down the dinner menu.

as fruits grow off vines/other plants would they not be considered living at one point as well? (i'm assuming by living you are saying that they eat no plants either?)

I've been a vegetarian since 2002. To be honest, there hasn't been much that I've missed.

27 , i every now and then think 'i miss empanadas' and than i realize there are cheese empanadas, and they are even better. No loss i can think of

Yes, they do consider plants/vegetation living, but not their fruits for some reason. I'm not sure what they think, but obviously they're alright with it. If they found much else to not eat, they wouldn't be around to tell us why!

And +1 to kithdotus.
