VT Deluxe Talkbass group purchase?

...... yes he did. and he's the man.

I AM EVERYWHERE AND EVERYTHING!!!!!

.... that's why i had a problem that i was too stupid to figure out without a professional's help.

I AM MOST PLACES.... AND...... UMMMMmmmmm... most...... things?

yesh.

well now that your problem is solved, let's get back to vtd love. my second gig with it is tomorrow, and i'm relatively sure i'll get a vintage svt on today's gig, which is very exciting for me. at least that's what they brought me last year.

I got mine today! Went straight to my band rehearsal. One word: awesome!!!!

I have my original VT for almost 2 yrs now. It's my tone. And now I got 6 sounds all in one box! What more can I ask for?

It's worth the wait!

Time to set it up later. My PT mini has been waiting for a long time. And so as my MXR filter and octave. And my sonic research tuner. Time to post some new pics soon!

Very cool to see all the joy after all the waiting.

I've rewired my board so the VT is straight in the path, with my loop controller controlling the input to the VT (my filter and comp). Definitely digging it. First gig with it will be Aug 12 (band has been on a monthlong break, singer just had a baby). It will be fun to gig this board.

gigged it last night. Ran it direct to the board and through my amp. I got worried when there was a bad hum coming through the bass channel on the board. Our soundguy automatically assumed it was the new pedal causing the problem, but after checking everything we figured out it was a ground problem in the house power.

I didn't have it quite dialed in as well as I'd like but over all it was great.

my first gig with it will be next Friday. so far, love it. it doesn't love having my MXR BEF in front of it, but i'm digging how it works with the Groove Regulator.

very nice little thingy of noise making... licious... ness. icity. of doom. in my pants.

...... or something.

OK, took mine to my church gig this this morning and had a problem with it hissing. I don't use an amp at this gig so I was running an xlr out and the hiss was very loud. We didn't have a lot of time to trouble shoot so I ran out of the 1/4 output into a DI and the hiss disappeared. What was I doing wrong?

you were running the high or character control really hot and/or cranking the drive. if you crank drive, it'll make noise. that's just the nature of overdrive. and boosting tone controls also boosts the noise floor of those frequencies.

running on ac. the highs were almost off and the character and drive weren't cranked either. it was a variation on Jimmy's B15 with a little more low and a little less high
should be dead quiet in that case. either you're getting interference elsewhere or you have a duff unit. hope it's not a duff unit. did you try it out somewhere else yet?

If it's on ac, you could try another circuit in the church....... Some times I had this issue in clubs, that had other electronics running on the same circuit, sometimes lights and other times my guitarist's noisy ass marshall ;)

This was true with my PBDDI, so it may very well happen with the VTD. Try it with just the batery and if you're using the XLR out, try the ground lift and shut off the 1/4 boost.

Stupid question: I know I missed the group buy by like...months. But is it possible for a great TB'er (like me) to still get the VTD at a discounted price. *hint* PMs are fine by me. ;)

Not at *this* discounted price - that was for a very early prepurchase. At this point, it's released, so you can look around for the best price you can find. Good luck!

OK...it was worth a try. :) Thanks for the reply, kesslari. I purchased my VT Bass late...like months after you guys did. After playing with it for a couple of months and finding that it has become my sound, the thought of having 3 instant VT Bass presets is...intoxicating. :bassist:
