PJ, Unfortunately, I'm not a bass player like you!!!! I play once in a while and have a small collection.

The history of this bass is that I ordered it a long time ago and couldnt wait for it...I was dying of anxiety!!!!!

After the order, I found a used one on ebay and asked Paul if he could refinish the bass. He said it wouldnt worth offered me a new MK 3 wenge , whose owner had given up...I HAD to take it!

So, now, I ended up with 2 MKIII 4, fortunately!

I'm still in the market for the right MK I or II...but I'll have to wait a little bit!!!

I'm curious as to what kind of amps/rigs you gents are playing you're lovely Wals through. Do they play well with SVT style tube amps?

Currently using a fender bassman 100w with a fender bassman 1x15. Nice tube sound!

J. what kind of pickups do you have on that other bass next to your Mk I?

They're the Yamaha pickups that come standard on the BB2024.

Hi all,

great to see so much activity on this forum!
Looking forward to my MK I fretless due March 2014.

I play my Wals through a TE AH1200 with a new Mesa PH 2x12 and two Mesa Diesel 1x15" (the ones featuring those killer EV 400w/8 ohms speakers) and using an Alembic 1FX as additional pre in the TE loop section.
Seems like the Trace Elliot sound goes very well with the Wal sound.

hey Jose. mattwear is correct, that's a yamaha bb2024. those are the stock pickups. the term P bass on steroids is overused, so I'll say it's like a Fender with Rabies.
