yeah buddy. the guy came and got it Tuesday night. very cool fellow. I miss having it in the house, but he seemed super thrilled about it. I know how frustrating it can be to be on the hunt for one of these things. as much as I loved the idea of being a multi-Wal guy. having a few grand cash back was a really nice feeling as well. I'm actually down to two basses for the first time in years now.

edit to add. this has always been a somewhat self funding hobby for me, but with a recent job change I have not played a paying gig since September; it's tough to admit this but I was lucky if I even had time to pick up a bass for more than a few minutes a week. I looked over at $7000 plus in basses sitting in a corner and it was starting to make me feel a little weird inside. add to this, the fact that I still have about $3500 going Paul's way in a few months and it was just weighing on me. I make ok money and my wife has always been supportive of my music (it's how we met) but she's been waiting patiently on a few things around the house that I wanted to take care of for her.

That sounds so selfless and mature. I'm not trying to be a smart ass. I'm probably still selfish why I'm single. I'm looking at making offers on a wal, tube rolling and getting rid of gear now that i know what tone I'm looking for. You make me feel guilty about getting another. There are probably mutual funds etc that I would be better served putting the money for a wal towards. Something tells me to get one more and have a fretted and fretless neck for it in case of emergencies.

Thanks, but seriously, if I were selfless and mature I wouldn't have owned 60+ basses in the last 5 years. ;)

I have no place taking a moral high ground on any gear purchase discussion, just sharing my own experience.

I hear you. I have to get rid of some stingrays. Wals are my basses. Keep messing around with the eq. For some reason I'm liking rolling the tone knobs towards the ten side and rolled the bass off. Working up pieces of a bassoon sonata that is played with a piano. 60 basses is a bunch. Makes me wanna put the offer in on that walnut wal that's out there. Making progress on the home studio hopefully get something recorded to be critiqued.

Yeah that's mine, I'd love to keep it, it sounds and feels quite different than my new one and I love it, but I can't keep two Mk1's and I'd love to be able to jump on the next appealing Mk3 that goes up for sale. Might be going tonight, I'll be sad to let it go, it really is pretty special.

Yes Jose ! But if one more bass enter through a door in my house, my wife will leave home by the other ! LOL ! Very nice PRO basses , I tempted but I will not do this again !
