When you reinstall the knobs when your boards come back, I use a business card with a notch cut in it so all the knobs are set at the same depth.

That’s a really really nice hack! I’m definitely nicking that should I ever need to.When you reinstall the knobs when your boards come back, I use a business card with a notch cut in it so all the knobs are set at the same depth.

Hi all, fellow Wal owner and long time lurkerA truly great community. Just thought I'd post a question raised on Wal fb fanpage. Anyone tried re-anodizing the knobs? I have a 1999 mk2 5-string fretless from new and some of the tone knobs are faded to bare aluminium due to heavy usage. I imagine the main problem would be keeping the markings and numbers. Any experience on this?
Psst... Don't tease us. We love pictures. Thanks, just what I was thinkingBTW, could I get a number on the list? It's a classic walnut faced lined fretless, W4015, signed by Pete in June 1999. and has been a pride and joy ever since.
There are some brand new beautiful Wals available at Ikebe Gakki shop in Japan, fresh builds from Paul. But prices are pretty high as you would expect in Japan.
that red one ----omgSo as crazy as the prices seemed for those new Wals at Ikebe in Japan, the two standard models have already sold! Yowzers!!!!
I like the black neck paired with the silver body. Looks sweet.
How do you like those schaller tuners on your red Mk3? I was thinking of ditching the black and silver hipshots for them.

The real question I am meaning to get to is.... What do you think would look better with this finish? Silver? Black Chrome? Gold? All opinions are appreciated...I like 'em way better. I never liked Hipshot tuners, they're soooo flat looking.
Black all day on that bass.View attachment 3341799
