Interesting...the price of used Wals is starting to feel like the red hot Canadian Real Estate market!
If anyone has experienced the TB classifieds lately like myself, not much is moving very fast. It needs to be something impressive, basically like a Wal or something is priced too cheap that it gets snapped up immediately. And for the most part, the basses for sale today (or actively being bumped by motivated sellers) are much more reasonable than the price tag on that 2015 MK3 6er.
I'm taking a back seat at these used prices and grabbing some popcorn! LOL!
There was a couple other Wals that posted on Reverb recently but within 24 hours the listing ended - probably had a deal done outside the platform.

Funny thing with this Pro was that it was listed at Bassgallery I think within the past 2 years or so at a striking price and got swooped up quick.

Oh yeah, I think even before individuals post a bass for sale, they already have a buyer pre-notified and ready to pounce on it! If they don't...it sits. And if they don't have a buyer and decide to test the market, if they don't get a quick response, they pull the ad.

Thank you for the info Kulit. I'm 95% sure about my specs. The only thing I've thought of changing would be the facings, but will probably stick with Zebrano with high gloss heavily Inspired by Bassballs MK2 but translucent black instead of blue.
I follow wood suppliers on IG and every time I see something cool it's like " wonder what a Wal with Quilted Sapele would look like".
One of Joe Climan's stolen Wals surfaced on IG yesterday...i messaged the poster to see if we can track down the photo...and weather its new.

I’ve been tuning (fiddling with) my trim pots this morning.
Although having the bass outputs dimed is fairly intoxicating, I’ve now dialled both back to 2 o’clock to clean things up a bit for live playing.
I’ve also bumped the pick attack up a little more. I’d had it set a little too subtle for live work. It still isn’t anywhere near full on but is now adding some Alembic style zing.
Although it’s probably been covered somewhere already, if anyone wants to add their trim pot settings and thoughts I’d love to hear them.

I’ve also added a simple mod to my strap which has helped the balance of the bass somewhat. It kind of lets the bass hang more where it would be in a sitting position, bringing the nut/reach a little closer. The strap hugs a little better too, keeping things stable. It’s just part of an old strap.
Haha, well, it works for me. Ideally I’d like a strap button fitted to the back of the bass just above the bridge. That’d have the Mk1 sitting spot on for me and super balanced. It may not suit everyone, though.

regarding trim pots, I have the old electronics without trimmable low end. I set the pick attack usually a little bit below 50%, otherwise I find it too abrasive sounding through speakers with horns. I rarely use pick attack.
Nice. I keep forgetting that older Wals don’t have bass trims, and I’ll see how pick attack goes on Saturdays band gig. It is handy for adding clank to a fretless.+1, make that a product
