the Epic barely qualifies as an Alembic ... trust me... I've had one, it's VERY basic.

If the bass is too heavy try using a neoprene strap.

I found neoprene too bouncy and slippery. I put a wide leather strap on my MK1 and it’s been awesome.

What is the string spacing at the bridge on a Way 4 string bridge? I've measured and I think it's 18mm but I don't trust my measuring skills. I don't think it matters but I have an old ProIIe.

I think 18mm is right. Do you have to measure from the out ends of the string or inner of the strings for measuring string spacing? I guess inner.

Measure from the center of one string to the center of the other next string

My NYE gig was in a very tiny dive bar, so used a P bass since I had to stand next to the door (snowy day).

I did three gigs on an island in the South Pacific back in December. I took my old Precision because we had to fly out. I enjoyed playing it but did miss the Wal!

Yes, shedua. It looks magic if you get the angle right. I’ve always preferred black walnut but this bass has swayed me. It’s a heck of a bass, anyway. I may not be able to sell it!

It looks amazing. I have a shedua Mk1 myself and I just noticed it has sort of the same stain as yours. Although on yours it looks more prominent. You will notice the stains better when you hold it under the lights. So I guess in that picture it was standing in the light?

Definitely. And at a good angle to catch the flame in the wood.

Well, finally got the LONG awaited "it's compete" email from Paul today.. hope to have it in my hands by mid / late January..
