Paul will send you a few to several pictures of wood samples he has to choose from, or you can give more ideas and keep looking. He will lay a paper cut out of a body over the wood so you can envision how it will look.
I don't usually prefer natural finishes, but that's just gorgeous. Congrats!

Also looks like cocobolla....it has some Alembic vibes because of the gloss finish.
Is it Ziricote?
Agree, looks a l lot like my Mark King Alembic .. with the gloss and cocobolo ... but this is Zircote.. and apparently Paul rarely does a gloss on these tops, so I'm glad he accommodated me on this one.
I would need the gloss on that to protect the bass from my drool! Damn that thing is awesome. I actually asked Paul about cocobolo but he said they didn't offer it. Love that ziricote too.
I asked the same thing back around 2012 and he told me he doesn't offer it since working with it is pretty hazardous as far as the dust and oils..... I was an enamored with that particular wood at the time and decided to go another route with a different builder..... lol I should've just picked a different timbre, but finally got a Wal build going a year later.
Yeah there seem to be a number of builders that have issues with it. Alembic seems to have it down.
Forgive me if this has already been addressed here (we are 670 pages in and it is getting hard to keep track!) but have you guys seen this pile of horse manure?
