Wal Bass Club.

Maybe someone sells rolls of that stuff generically for instrument case, but another idea (and I don't know how mechanically protective it would be) is to fashion an "aesthetic improvement" with some electrical shrink tubing (cut down the length of it), placed around the length of the upper case edges, and applying a heat gun.

Can anybody of you contribute something to the history of this W 1120 Pro 2e with xlr? This bass was build in 1979 and has the same specifications as W 1116 and JG 1111. Maybe there is one more… This bass was bought used at Station Music, South Germany, around thirty years ago. But the first fifteen years are obscure nor how it came to Germany. I would appreciate hints.

My fellow Walnuts does anyone know how much Paul charges these days for gold hardware? I wanted to get an idea before I email him. As far as I know he just started building the bass.
Final Specs (so far)
MK3 four
Premium Quilted maple facings top and back
Matching headstock and rear control cavity cover
Ebony Board
Satin body and neck
I originally had the high gloss option but went with satin and upgraded the facings and wood preamp cover.
Don’t want to reveal too much but have been talking with Pat Wilkins about a duplicating certain finish. If he can, this will be the first Wal in this color!

I remember my '18 build option costing £570 for gold. So yeah like over 700 bucks then.
Thank you Mike not a cheap option! It’s so easy to rationalize “hell I’ve spent so much on upgrades what’s £570 more “:D
I finalized the specs with Paul a couple of weeks ago will email him about the price, and possibly adding the gold hardware.
Wouldn’t think he would be that far into the build.

That is a great-looking bass, the top is awesome and the gold hardware really suits it. I'm in the "more is more" camp, get what you want when it is being built!

One of the things I really like about Wal gold hardware is that it isn't just the tuners, strap pins and bridge.

Found and bought a profile like that on german ebay. Will report how that works out.
I´ve just received and applied this profile to the blue case bought on german ebay:https://www.ebay.de/itm/223871510257.It fits perfect without glue if you leave out the locks but the profile is wider! This don`t matter to me ...Later when it has settled i will glue it with Pattex 100. Cost all together ten euro.
