We got bumped for.....Pitbull?

WOW!!! Can TB take the collective stick out of your collective dupa!!! Great story, well written, even the booing at the end. Screw that guy for not learning the real "whom the bell tolls" line. That hack and his hack of a band was making bank. Sorry but hack is hack. I learned that line note for note at the age of 14 and never once got paid for it. I think it was a proper ending to a great mis-adventure. The drugs and booze make for a real and interesting part of the story.

Like the poster said, haters gonna hate. Was this the Crazy Donkey by chance?
well aren't you special.....i suppose everyone that attempts a song must do it your way or be considered a hack and booed....let's face it the op walked in with an attitude and still thinks his behavior is justified...maybe the club was ill prepared for his giant ego, maybe they were not,but the one thing the op has not learned is that working with people is better accomplished by treating them with some respect, even if their talents do no measure up to his expectations...if anyone here behaved like a hater it was the op.... careers flame out pretty fast in this biz,and pissing people off on the way up is a sure way to get your nose rubbed in it on the way back down....

Define the "great" part of it?
Being disrespectful?
Acting like your sh!t doesn't stink?
Or are you living vicariously through him because you couldn't hold his nutsack with both hands?
Just kidding.....;)
(now that was "metal" eh?!??)

No, not even close, a proper ending would have been the guy he boo'd getting fired in the wake of this guys awsomeness and then to celebrate he would have gone over to guitar center, found some kid looking at buying his first bass, and kicked him in the shin..... then he'd have gone for a blunt.......

-eSmith.

I actually laughed.. I couldnt help it, i wanted to badmouth you... But instead, only laughter insued... thanks for that, laughing isn't metal :(

I like this post. I'll address each one individually.

I expect that if I'm booked to play, I play. There were people expecting to see us that night. If that's asking too much, I guess I'm a diva and our fans are needy.

............................

But a pro works around limitations. You aren;t playing Madison Square Garden. Deal.

..................

There's a huge difference between complaining and sticking up for yourself. When we found out about it I didn't cry about it. I drank more, rocked out to the band playing, and got some smoochies from a chick...that actually kinda makes me the man.

..........................

Yes, drinking more is always the answer. Good move. You're the man.

I was bragging?

.......................

Still are.

..............................

If you're supposed to do your job and you're not I'm gonna call you out on it.

............................

Did it help?

...................................

Once again, I was bragging? It was irrelevant to the story but it happened and therefore, part of the story. Get off the pedestal, I smoke weed and it's AWESOME!

.....................

What's weed have to do with music? I'm not on any pedastal. I smoke too. It doesn't make you special that you think it's awesome.
.

...........................................

I meant maybe, if I had no intent of playing I'd be wrong. If the night went smoother and I was up to it, I would have been playing Sabbath. I was willing to get past wanting to punch that dude in the face to get my Geezer on.

.................

So things didn't go the way you wanted so you threw a tantrum. If you plan on making a living out of music that attitude will work against you. But I guess when you're a genius destined for stardom, it doesn't matter.

........................

In the real world, there's A LOT of people that need to get some sense slapped into them. Yes, this includes me sometimes.

..........................

Good point.

....................................

I'm not gonna pretend to be cool with someone I'd rather see beaten, because that's even worse than telling them to piss off.

......................

Sounds like you have some anger issues you need to address.

.....................................
But thanks for the lecture, dad.

.......................

No lecture. But I guess you think any advice that's responsible is parental. And parents are so uncool, right?

.....................................

How's the weather on that pedestal? Warm I hope.
............................

Hmmm, you think that anyone who disturbs your little world needs to be slapped and I'M on a pedastal? Interesting.

Hope it all works out for you.

Guess you can't play the song either? Dude really??? Why are people defending the hack? Have you ever been booed? If not get out there cause its happens to everyone, sometimes its deserved.

Sure it was childish and rude for him to do that, but really? I have a hard time feeling sorry for the poor guy that did not learn the tune.

And Yes I am special :spit:

Why are you defending the jerk that is the OP? I guess you guys do stick together.

WoW!! that was harsh, but my skills are not in question. It was a great story, whether you agree with what he did, it was still entertaining.

Please before you respond again, remove your Icon because you are very UN-Dude like. And because I think its a funny story, how does that make me a jerk? I just happen to have a strong dislike for HACK. And when a paid musician gets called on his HACK, I find enjoyment in that. Hopefully the Hack went home and learned the song, for his best interest.

But I am not really defending the OP, more like calling out all the moral police officers.

I'll be keeping it, thanks.

Nice to see you find enjoyment in other people being mocked, I'm sure that's going very well for you.

You know the funny thing was.....he was booing someone who actually had a gig, AND PLAYED that night......

Oh the irony.....:D

I love those guys who show up to someone else's gig and heckle them.
Have it done to me in the past.
I usually ask them (on the mic) "where are you playing tonight?" or "thanks for your $5 at the door".
Generally shuts them up pretty quick.

I love how guys assume that bass player just didn't know the line.
I don't have a distortion pedal. Or a Wah.
If I was in a band and they wanted to do the tune, and it sounded better if one of the guitar players played it, then so be it.
Becuase if I played it clean, it may sound like poo. And I'm not buying two pedals for one song.

And really, besides us bass nerds, I'd bet hardly any know that it's bass playing that line. Nor do they care.

It's like someone playing Falco's "Der Kommissar" or Missing Person's "Walking in LA" on bass and not synth bass. (actually depends who's version of Der Kommissar - Falco was all synth's or After the Fire's which is more known here in the States, which is synth and bass doubling the line).
Poor sap isn't good enough to play the line on keys so I don't feel sorry for him if he gets boo'd.

So, come to my gig and boo me.
And thanks for paying your $5 at the door.......;)

Burlington (if that is his real name... :eyebrow:) is one of the guys making you metalheads look respectable. I wouldn't send him packing just yet......

And laughing at the misery of others? Whats up with that? Simple things amuse simple minds I guess, most adults would see it for what it is. I think it comes down to insecurity when someone finds comfort in others inabilities.

As for the posers who buy gear then can't use, my other hobby is great for that. Doesn't matter how rich you are or how expensive your RC helicopter is. Gravity makes no exceptions.... ever. I have seen MANY guys come out with the latest and greatest only to take it all home in a cardboard box. I Never laugh at them thought, I might be next.
