Were you dead before you were born (or conceived)?

Since 50% of me existed in my mother from the day she was born (and going back matrilineally ad infinitum), I have always existed in some form or another. And since I am a registered organ donor, theoretically I will continue to live on this planet (in some way) after I die.

Or if you have children, you will always live. Or maybe by this line of thinking if you have siblings, you will still always continue to live. Provided they have children, and so on, since you came from the same mother.

^Jeepers. That's 40 years old. Yikes.

Samael covered it in the 90's though. :p

How 'bout this 'un?

Die, die, die my darling
Don't utter a single word
Die, die, die my darling
Just shut your pretty mouth

I'll be seeing you again
I'll be seeing you in hell

Don't cry to me oh baby
Your future's in an oblong box, yeah
Don't cry to me oh baby
Should have seen it a-comin' on
Don't cry to me oh baby
I don't know it was in your power
Don't cry to me oh baby
Dead-end girl for a dead-end guy
Don't cry to me oh baby
Now your life drains on the floor
Don't cry to me oh baby

After seeing your earlier post, I was going to post the lyrics to TSOLs 'Code Blue'.

Probably not a good idea, eh?

Probably not. This one's always good, though.

Y know death don't have no mercy in this land
Death don't have no mercy in this land, in this land
Come to your house, you know he don't take long
Look in bed this morning, children find your mother gone.

I said death don't have no mercy in this land.
Death will leave you standing and crying in this land,
Death will leave you standing and crying in this land, in this land, yeah!

Whoa! come to your house, y know he don't stay long,
Y look in bed this morning,
Children you find that your brothers and sisters are gone.
I said death don't have no mercy in this land.

Death will go in any family in this land.
Death will go in any family in this land.
Come to your house, you know he don't take long.
Look in the bed on the morning, children find that your family's gone.

I said death don't have no mercy in this land.
Death will leave you standing and crying in this land,
In this land. whoa! come to your house,
Y know it don't stay long, y look in bed this morning,
Children find that your brothers and sisters are gone.

I said death don't, death don't have no mercy in this land

One minute your driving down the highway, feeling grand. The next youre caught right between the headlights of a big unstoppable semi-truck without a second to swerve. Light out. You open your eyes, and in some far off place, you awake from slumber, leaving the nightmare behind. We die a thousand deaths every night, and wake to a million different worlds each morning.
i've gotten close to a few theories like that myself, especially when I read about string theory and these ideas about parallel realities.

I do wonder about people who have died terribly, though. Like torture victims, or people who die in fires. If the general idea is that we finish with the path we're on and then seamlessly pick up another one, I feel sorry for people who happened to find themselves on that particular path. I feel sorry for them anyway.

I've always wondered about that too. There's some weird karmic mysterious thread seemingly running through random acts of life, perhaps. Or is there? It's unknowable I think, but the universe does seem to drop some clues here and there sometimes, I think. Whether or not people are able to pick up on it is another thing. I think most of the time we aren't. Probably almost all of the time. Illusory.
