Interesting way of seing it. I´m expecting an Adamovic Eclipse fretless 5 string ....but don´t know if I´d call it GAS, it´s more of a....hope that day will come soon.

I'm Gasing for a job! I sit with two engineering degrees, and 200 resumes out nothing... stupid natural gas drilling bust. I would like to have my first real jazz bass though, but that will have to. College loans suck being middle age.

I NEED this now, because I bought the 210 extension cab to use with my component rack, and I have to have the matching combo now. Hate GAS, but LOVE buying new stuff, which I really haven't done til this year since, like 2000, so I am definitely due.

Although I love my job, I'm gassin' for a job that helps in not being broke all the time. Plus gassin' to play on a regular basis, instead of maaaybe once a month.

Once the job GAS is fulfilled, then I'll be taking care of the Noble preamp/DI, Earthquaker Device Dispatch Master, and a chorus pedal, not sure which ( suggestions welcome)
Also been gassin' for an sfx modded Bad Monkey

You can do it. It *was* a big jump, one most would never take, but I gigged my hind-end off for 9-1/2 months to make it feasible. They require a 50% deposit to place an order, but I held my fire until I had 80% banked. I'm just a regular working 8-5 guy, and I really can't spend household income on basses, but this was a long-held dream.

I should also add, I wouldn't have done it at all, except for the great staff at Alembic. After this creep on ebay totally doinked me a while back by selling me an old Alembic that had it's guts stripped-out, Mica went waaaay over the top helping me restore, and even upgrade the tone circuit to modern specs. Treated me like I had bought it new. They are just the best.

I've often followed the only spend gig money on gear rule as I'm just a working guy myself (7-4;)). I did this to fund my recent Ric purchase which I love dearly but man, an Alembic, it's like Mount Olympus. It's the pinnacle of craftsmanship. I was thinking about trying to find a used Stanley Clarke they usually go for around $8,000 but I've seen a few as low as $5,000 but honestly, I'd just be settling for something that isn't exactly what I want. I do appreciate your words and story they are very inspiring. Funnily enough, I just went into a semi-retirement from playing live and quit all my bands, I think I might have to start looking! :laugh:

I am really wanting a Reverend Mercalli 5, but not the new one. I want the older style in honey brown with the bound/blocked fingerboard and the black headstock.

Wow, I actually have to think about it... I got my PA together, I got my basses, my amp, extension cab, got a nice mixer coming in as a belated Christmas gift (back ordered...), more cables than I will ever use, mics, light effects, fogger.

How about my truck fixed. I have an '04 F150 with the squirrely 5.4L 3V V8 and I am having the all too predictable cam phaser problem. I need to rebuild the top end of the engine to get it going again, probably would be wise the pull it all apart and freshen it up, make sure the oil paths are all cleaned out. Got a friend that does this sort of work, but he's slow in getting things done. So for now, I stuff everything I can in my Saturn, get my guitarist to haul the rest with his Jeep + trailer. MUCH easier to move everything in my pickup. One vehicle, everything goes with in one trip.

Hmmm. I know! Music related! A Rock n Roller R16RT. The big one with the big wheels. Mostly for the bigger wheels to allow us to haul gear over bad parking lots and across lawns / fields easier.

- A nice P-Bass (AVRI, G&L LB-100,...)
- Ampeg PF-20/50 T and a small cab to go with it
- A nice small acoustic guitar
- PRS SE 277 Baritone (not sure if the solid or semi-hollow body)
a little more down the line I'd like to pick up a hollowbody bass, too.
