What are you reading Chapter 4

Just finished this

Just got back from a trip to England including London and Oxford so my reading has complimented this.

Churchill & Orwell, The Fight for Freedom by Thomas Ricks was a really interesting read on how these two led somewhat parallel lives.

The Road to Little Dribbling by Bill Bryson was great and got funnier as it went on. Not sure if that was because I had been to England by the time I got halfway through but it is a good humorous read.

Finally Animal Farm by George Orwell just because I never read it earlier and had read the Churchill & Orwell book.

I always have multiple books going at once, so in the bathroom it's Invincible by Jack Campbell, Thunderbird by Jack McDevitt in the living room, and the first Discworld novel on my Kindle in the bedroom. Yeah, I'm a science fiction fan!
Oh, and I'm in the middle of the new Astronomy and Guitar Player magazines.

Tough Baby by Jesse Sublett. This is the second of 3 noir/mystery novels that take place in Austin, TX in the 80’s and 90’s. The main character in all three novels is Martin Fender, a bass player who also moonlights as a skip tracer. This is pure entertainment, beer and pretzels mystery, with music/bass guitar stuff thrown in. All 3 are fun reads, and I’ve re-read them many times, especially the first one (Rock Critic Murders). And, the author is also a bass player in Austin.

The Roycroft Campus.png

It's about Elbert Hubbard and the Roycrofters, key icons in the American Arts & Crafts movement, and is still active (the Roycrofters, not Elbert, as he drowned when the Lusitania sank).

I've the entire Dark Tower series sitting gathering dust since I bought them years back.
I just can't get into them ... which is very weird, as I love most of King's writing I've come across, and usually enjoy a good fantasy/sci-fi epic series.

Maybe I'll give them another shot.
I did the same thing...I bought them and read the first book then left it. Decided to start reading it again 3 months ago and I'm glad I did. No interest in seeing the movie based on the direction it went.

I got through the entire series this year, including The Wind Though the Keyhole. I've been on a Stephen King kick lately. I just finished Mr. Mercedes and Finders Keepers. Next up will be End of Watch and Carrie.

I plowed through the Bill Hodges's trilogy earlier this year....End of Watch is a great book. If you like Stephen King I suggest The Passage Trilogy by Justin Cronin....A very long series in the vein of The Stand.
