Yeah, we're warming up for the end of the school year.

Last night had:

Cantillon Kriek Lambic
Westvleteren 12
Rochefort 10
St. Bernardus 12
Russian River Supplication

That's with three people, though.

Tonight, I split a few things with a friend, the highlight of which was an Alaskan Smoked Porter.

Just got back from a brews cruise here in Asheville, NC. My wife and I came here for a long weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary and she agreed to go on the brewery cruise. Pretty cool of her, since she's not a beer person. We hit Craggie, French Broad and Pisgah breweries and tried various beers. The highlight was the Scotch Wee Heavier from French Broad, very good. I bought a growler of it to take home.

I had the absolute worst beer like beverage today... my mother-in-law had been trying to track down this awesome new beer she saw an ad for. Michelob Light Cider. It tastes like the weak aftertaste of slightly old and fermenting apple juice from the back of the fridge mixed with just the aftertaste of a bad light beer... all mixed with seltzer water.

She loved it, the father-in-law said he did until the rest of us chimed in... 6 others at the family gathering agreed with me.

Just got back from a trip to the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company. Place was great - they have a dog-friendly patio area. Food was OK. Kinda what you expect from a place that gets a lot of tourist traffic and doesn't have to rely too much on repeat business.

But, they brew their own beer, which is the important part. Given the weather I tried their Hefe, which was a bit watery. More Widdle-mer than real Hefeweizen. Then their IPA, which was almost good. The hop profile was great but it was a little too sweet for my taste.

(I also tried a Bloody Mary there. Not the best.)
