Not really a TIL, but somewhat relevant to the world we occupy at the present time.

TIL there's a young woman named Ellie Goulding who has sold 115 million albums.
In the digital age, it's apparently possible to sell massive amounts of recordings without being a household name. In the '60s/'70s/'80s, I think most people knew the names of artists/bands who sold tens of millions of records, even if they weren't fans of those artists/bands.
Or maybe I'm just old.

Recently, and for the first time in my life, I saw robins at our suet feeder. I have never seen such a thing, before. At the time, we were in the middle of a drought, and the ground was very hard and dry. Up here, it is also quite sandy, which is another factor, as well. What I figured is that the lack of rainfall had an adverse impact on the robins' normal food supply, such as worms and insects, and they turned to the fatty source that is the suet. Since it rained, the worm holes reappeared and the robins have not been at the suet since then.

i've learned in the past week or so that there are a bunch of epoxy experts on TB. great news for fretless players. 
Regarding Myth and Legend: I learnt, among other things today, that even vikings worth their salt will still be buried with a crappy, inferior blade. While, prior to this, when doing battle, or traveling down the whale road ( 
), off on a viking expedition, he or she'll be using the finest blade, gained through canny trading with alien artisans from distant Afghanistan.
