What gave you serious G.A.S recently?

I bought one bass this week and am almost have a trade/cash deal worked out for another and still am gassin after checking out Lokire's new Stambaugh. I even checked out the stambaugh website and am seriously contemplating one. Haven't cleared any of this with the wife yet so I may be sleeping on the beach soon

Not that I need another bass but the '07 Heritage Classic Mockingbird just looks so nice and it is one of the new
neck-through basses.

I am loving this bass! Plus, the "Millenium Falcon" controls looks awesome!

My mtd gas periodically goes through the roof. Its back up there, heh.

A used 435 is hard enough to come by, especially with the weird combination of wenge neck and maple fingerboard (no one has this, theres only a few that have been made this way). I am in no need of this bass now, so I have time to save up for a couple years and fulfill my dream at that time. Right now I am trying to focus less on GAS and more on playing, now that I have my amp and bass situation taken care of.

I spent a few minutes going through the big MTD Gas thread earlier and basically thats how I came up with the wood combination I mentioned above. i think that the contrast of the wenge/maple neck would look great with an ash/blackened redwood top.

Yes it would! So when do you take delivery on it?

ETA 3 years. We'll see how this summer goes. I could afford it perhaps by the end of August but the problem that would then arise is the fact that I would be going to college with no money. That is why I dont see myself being able to get one anytime soon.

When you're a broke student, much less extravagant things still cause G.A.S. It's hardly a boutique bass, but I have a weakness for Thunderbirds and an even bigger weakness for blue basses.

I'd say it's a matter of personal preference, with neither being inherently 'better' than the other.
