What gear makes you look old?

I look old because I am old, and I'm mighty grateful to still be here. Other than my age, I think my mid 80's Peavey Mark IV head and matching Black Widow loaded 2x15 cab while clean, still looks old fashioned when I bring that rig out for a gig every so often. I quess my preference for Fender basses brand me as a truly old fart as well.

OMG. I am even older than I thought.

A stool or a chair makes you look old. I understand impairment--half my back is titanium--but sitting down is for pussies...

That is *bad news*. I heart sitting down! Like, off and on, for about a third of the set. Dag nabbit!

I like wearing shirts out to prevent buckle rash and to conceal a gun sometimes.

I'm just quoting this 'cause it's awesome.

I normally wouldn't think gear would "date" a guy, but I walked past the ballpark a while back (downtown) and saw some band called "Reaganomics" playing "the greatest hits of the '80s" - the bassist was a guy about my age but with much longer hair... playing a low-slung ric with a pick.

He looked OLD - and I think the Rick with the pick had something to do with it. Of course, it could have been the Loverboy tune they were "cranking out"...

The low slung Ric played with a Pic to me has serious shades of Roger Glover and Smoke on the Water.

Hmmm... I think this would help:

That truly is the funniest thing I have EVER seen!

This has been an eye-opener. It's very clear I'm an old guy. Of course I live in Wisconsin which is at least 10 years behind the coasts in terms of style. Mullets are still seen and Hawaiin shirts are everywhere.

What kind of hat can I wear to cover my receding hairline and not look like an old fart?
Kangol 504. If it can make Samuel L Jackson look cool, it can make anybody look cool.
