What happened to Hadrien Feraud?!

Except for the snare sound, I dug that!
Yes, the snare is really annoying and Jada's stage demeanor is a little harsh and over the top.I only saw clips of the Tom Cruise rock movie where he sings but kind of like that. I know they are doing it but something is not quite right.
And if Hadrien got fired from his gig with McLaughlin because he's too loud (not that that is anything that hasn't, could have,, should have happened to most of us) he might have gone too far the other way in this video. Turn that s**t up, Hadrien.
I can't say I love the music I have heard of him but this video is really cool. I wish there was more of that out there. We jammed on Don't Stop Til You Get Enough on rehearsal the other day...Fun!

Hadrien is not just a chops guy who can solo his ass off, he is also funky as hell.:bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist:

Awesome thread! Nice explosions!

Anyway, all I can say is when you seek the spotlight, don't be surprised when you get it and it's not all Ding Dongs and creme cheese.

Well Phil, if beeing french maybe an issue for objectivity, I think you have some objectivity issues yourself.

I mean: in your way, if you don't fit a guy's gig you are not professional. Ahem... don't you think it's a little more complex ? Are you suggesting that a professionnal bass player MUST be a "machine" ? As I said, it's only different sensitivities, but saying that a guy fired from a gig is not professional for me is completely unfair, cos' it doesn't take the guy's personalities into consideration.

You don't know JML personaly, and I don't ! maybe we would say that this guy is a nice person, or a complete dictator ! what would be the major issue ? our own soul.

I repeat: as I said did someone else had any major issue with HF ? seems not.... so because it is JML the Earth must be shaking ? :D come on I think you are clever than that.

Respect what the guys do, in that thread I "feel" that you are just looking for lice

(as I said, it's my own sensitivity, but the way you are coming back evrytime and one time it's about HF, one time about french people, man.... have you got problems in your life these days??)

When you read the quote I posted from the JM interview, how did you interpret that?

If you don't want to do the job, the way the person hired you to do the job, don't take the job. If you're highly skilled and everyone is just dying to hire you, why do you need to act up on a job to the point that you get fired from it?

I repeat: as I said did someone else had any major issue with HF ? seems not.... so because it is JML the Earth must be shaking ? :D come on I think you are clever than that.

I'm not sure this is relevant.

"nitpicking" is the term you're looking for.

Is is just my imagination or are there a more than normal number of French people posting and deleting posts in this thread? :D

What was harsh? Talking about him getting fired? Pointing out how his story about gettinng fired differs from that of who fired him?

If it were me I would have explained that yes I acted in a manner that got me fired, and realized that my behavior was not consistent with being a professional, so that those that aren't aware of what is expected of them don't make the same mistake.

Note: You're the one that brought up the issue of him being fired.

I understand what you are saying and its your right. But, interviews sometimes do not tell the truth as it may have been implied. Did he play to loud, maybe. Was he fired maybe and maybe not. As you may or may not know interviews are twisted and made for readers to go into a sensationalism mode. Getting back to "What happened to....." why are we looking for the negatives? Do we find that more thrilling. I do think as many do Hadrian is a excellent bassist who must have put in many hours to accomplish what he has giving us. I know he has improved as a player. I see he tours with other great players. I know he teaches so along with his gigs I am sure he is financially good. I think he is very creative on his bass. I get very inspired when I see him play. Most of all I wish he had a "ask a pro" forum here. I understand he now is living in LA and I hope this improves his availability for us living in the USA to see him more often.

I know this may be uncomfortable for you and others to read but you have to think for a second and consider this: Why would John McLaughlin lie about this? Better question: Why do you think he would lie about this? He could have easily provided a different narrative.

No not saying it didnt happen, but it could have happened somewhat differently. Then again it could had happened exactly. All and all why concentrate on why he isnt with John McLaughlin.
