What is an iconic guitar solo that should be played note for note?

Thissun! And it's the best lead tone ever recorded to date.
First, that's a great song and I bet it fills the floor. But there's a lot going on with the guitar, intentional warts and all. I bet it would take a lot to nail it to the record and I'm not sure that the lead is the star of that song. I think that song survives just fine with over or underplayed leads. The groove is the boss. Opinion.

The Cars, "Just What I Needed." A short but cool solo 
I would vote no on the box scaggs song,the bass line is iconic not the guitar solo.

None. The original artists often don't play it note for note either.
