What is your favorite bass strap?

I need to find the most comfortable strap for my new fender bass. My old strap Makes me feel like I worked out in the gym. Thanks

Playing a Warwick that might be an ounce or two less than a boat anchor, my straps have to be a minimum 3”. I prefer fabric to leather as there is some stretch to it. I had one I really liked but my son took off with it ( along with a really good bass combo amp about 2 years ago) so I replaced it with a 3” Lock-It strap.

As said earlier.
The Comfort Strapp.

It used to be a home made one made from a broad black leather belt with brown ornaments on it.

Can't remember how I got it honestly, suppose it came with an instrument I bought at some point, but unfortunately I lost it.

You can see a bit of it on this picture which is the best shot I got of it:

Now I use a relatively cheap Fender one, made of some kind of cloth material on the front side and some kind of synthetic leather like material on the inside, which I actually like quite a lot too, since shape and thickness wise it pretty much match my old one and is about as wide too.

Exactly like this one:

I don't happen to be particularly fond of those typical straps that will be insanely wide on one side and ridiculous slim on the other.

Levy’s 3.5” wide single ply leather with rough inside layer. The roughness grabs to clothing and they eventually mold themselves to your body. About as cheap as it gets for leather as well. I always use the upper hole at the end of the strap so I can switch to the lower one if the hole gets stretched out.

I make my own. 56 inch length of 4 inch wide latigo, taper the ends, punch the holes with empty .38 cases.
I have some amazing latigo leather at home that is big enough to do that. Might give it a try myself. Currently using a softer 3½" wide white leather strap. You can see it a little bit hanging off my bass here:

After about 32 years of use, the outside edge of the part that goes over my shoulder has a few cracks in it. Might not be a bad time to make a new one. I bought this one back in 1985.

I've found that I like a 2-1/2" padded strap. Make is not important. I used 3" straps for a while, but found they rode up on my collar bone. While this distributed the weight slightly better, I could just never find a comfortable place to wear the strap.
