I would say my American standard jazz, but as the only band I'm playing with regularly is a metal band I guess it would be my Quantum 5. At home and teaching lessons it is always the Jazz.

For now, a Gibson Thunderbird is the main BG. For a while, it was a Ric, but I like the Thunderbird better. The Ric is gone. Before the Ric, it was a Fender Precision. That one comes out regularly still. The one I play most is the upright.

Right now it's this Spector Forte.

It has the same preamp, and is made of the same materials as a NS2 but has black hardware, a matte finish and no inlays.

That matte finish really sings. It's 2011 and most US Spectors from that year have "winged" necks, this is no exception. It's an oddly comfortable, fairly wide, profile neck that just begs to be played.

I own three US Spectors, 2 NS2s and this Forte, the Forte get the most playtime by far.

Wow. That is pure sex.

Love jazz basses, and especially love the Modulus Quantum, the Q-5 just fits in practically any genre of music, and the low B is rightfully legendary.

My Spector Euro 4LX personally signed by Staurt himself. Swapped out the Tone Pump with an Aquilar OBP-3 and put some gold knobs on it. This bass ended my bass GAS years ago.

Mine varies between 2. A Dean p bass V that used to be a metalman, and a SX. Both are comfortable to play and sound good.
Plus I am sentimental over these because they were both rebuilt in my Dad's garage. He is a car guy and an electrician, but he helped me with both of these because he can figure out how to work on anything.

That's Pedro The Dirty Mexican. No offense to any actual Mexicans who may be reading this whilst dirty. 95-96 MIM Fender Squire Series. Pawn shop rescued for $96. Bought it to practice setups, wiring, soldering etc. I've always been a P guy but hate the necks. This was the first P neck I ever really got along with. He was once black, striped him, burnt him, poly'd him and changed out all the electronics
(Original pickup). Plays and sounds great, even with the dead spot. The fat finger actually took care of that though. The one bass I know I'll never sell.

My #1 changes depending on the gig, and so at various times any one of my seven basses could be my #1. I'm trying to think which one I'd grab first if the building was on fire...even that's a tough call.

Yep, same here... lots of times it's upright only. I tend to alternate between bass guitars... most often a Turner Electroline and/or an Alembic Persuader.

I hate picking favorites between them, but I do gig every single one.
