What questions do you wish people would stop asking?

Often here I cringe when people pile on a kid/new member asking about the best bass for metal or something similar. Give the kid a break. Either ask some questions to gain context and clarity or move along.

This. A thousand times this.

If you’re tired of answering the same old questions and would rather not provide a helpful answer, just skip the temptation for editorial commentary and move along.

Lets not forget our roots. This was new to each of us at one time. So show some patience and always try to help someone less knowledgeable along.

Two fingers and 40hz nailed it.

With me it's less about the question and more about the answer. Too many times people will give someone a hard time for asking a question that has been asked before and post a link to some thread from who knows when.

It usually comes off as being a little snide.

The reality... TB has been around long enough that nearly every question could have been asked already.

If people just used this as a database, and not a forum, what would we have to talk about....

Perish the thought, but they might have to rename it from TalkBass to Research Bass.... or maybe even.... DataBass.

Any chronic questions/comments (or instrument playing) that interrupt your answering THEIR question,

or any chronic questions/comments (or instrument playing) that prevents you from asking YOUR question,

in an audition or rehearsal setting.

Please note the use of the word "chronic", not the same thing as random incidents that occur now and then :)

I don't mind people being silly, asking for freebird to be played everyone knows it's gag at this point. Even beginner questions are fine, we all start somewhere, no worries bud. But...BUT....the one that absolutely steams my beans and burns my toast..."Hey man! Can you SlApPa Da BaSs!?" how bout I slappa ya face

My response usually is, "Oh you missed the slap bass solo on Play That Sweet Home Brown Eyed Funky Stairway To Freebird, I'll see if we can do it again at the end of the night".

(I don't slap bass much lol).

I guess what gets me on the forum is the questions that have impossible requirements (1000W, 8" speaker, $125 or less shipped) or the OP starts arguing with your responses. The last part doesn't happen often, but ok new person, maybe you really will produce a completely new way of playing bass so that your fingers can bend that way or whatever, but most likely you won't.
