Do you play Free Bird or Stairway to Heaven?
My favorite answer to those questions - I saw Dash Riprock one night play "Stairway to Free Bird".
Perfect answer. If you search that on YouTube there's quite a few acts doing that song.
Just for the record - this has been the most entertaining thread I've read in a while.

So, after our first set, a guy comes up to me and asks, "hey man, how long have you been playing?"
I told him, "about 90 minutes...."
I told him, "about 90 minutes...."
"Why no love for [X or Y or Z]?" and variations thereof.
Jeez, if people wanted to talk about their love for X, Y, or Z, they would. They're not obligated to do so because you wish they would. This question just sounds a tad aggrieved, for no really good reason.
Don't get me wrong, this is pretty minor, just a little eye-roller; nothing to get butthurt by or lose sleep over. But the OP did ask....

I had a co-worker friend of mine angerly walk out of my gig because we denied his request to come up and sing. While he was usually a reasonable guy, he had a look of shock and said "did you say No?!?" It's amazing to me how often this question has come up.

I don't have problems with that. Nobody has the obligation of know everything and maybe that drunk person in the bar is someone having a bad day.
Do you know "Rocky Top" ? That one makes me want to find a better gig......

Had a drunk (in a wine bar, no less) request Pink Floyd. Got pissed when we said no. We were a Fakebook acoustic jazz trio. Seriously, it happened.

But in answer to the original question:
It would be song requests during a gig when your band obviously does not play that genre.

This is not a part of the question but goes with previous post, , we were at our gig in South Alabama. We are all in our early 60's. I saw the lead talking to this guy for several minutes. Then the lead walked back, and said "I have not seen him since high school". I said 'cool' but I remembered he did not grow up here. I asked where did you go to HS? He said Miami FL. which is 1000 miles away,,,,,
