After wondering this for the longest time,(and finding no definition)I have come to the conclusion that it means total indifference to any preference.

I can't take it any longer. I understand 'apples and oranges' but what does a reference to 'Carrots' on talkbass stand for.
Its been years and I haven't figured it out.
"Carrot" is the Talk Bass euphemism for sex.
Its usage started as a necessity because of the high percentage of chaste or religious bass players.
If you consider how and where "carrot" is often substituted, you'll get the idea.
Note: When you see "carrot" as an option in a poll, it means that person would rather have sex than a Precision or Jazz, etc.
