Thanks Dalkowski! I haven't heard Robyn Hitchcock in years, saw him with the Egyptians around 30 years ago. I see his writing style hasn't changed, lol.
i want my gear to be found in a barn, in an episode of American Pickers, in the year 2112!
He should bury his gear in the backyard like that one guy buried his Indian motorcycle…

That is exactly the reason I am wanting these to go to either someone in the family that will use them, or aspiring musicians that need a hand up as opposed to a hand out.

Ditto. I'm more concerned about the organs I can give to save another human being. Gear is only stuff. As much as I enjoy my gear, it will always remain things, stuff, tools.

I only had "Gotta Let This Hen Out" (on a cassette a friend made me).
My Mom's Baldwin concert upright (baby grand sized harp), is technically mine, but will go to my youngest who plays it every day, and truly loves it with all her heart. Even before I pass on... once she gets a place big enough after college.
Basses, guitars, Amps, and gear will be split between the two kids, to do as they wish with. My son-in-law plays, and is intending to have the grandkids play something, so they will be played.
I'm no "vintage" collector, but they'll have some pristine players.
That brings up another issue. With the middle to low end being of such quality these days (compared to my youth), what will my JP-90 or MIM Strat be worth in 20 some years (if I even still have them)? Will this be the Silver age of instruments (comics reference)?

If you can only have one, "Hen" is a good one to have.
Would I be "mostly dead, or all dead?" There's a big difference. Mostly dead means I'm slightly alive and can still play some gigs. All dead, well, there's only one thing you can do when you're all dead. Play weddings. Keep the groove.
Personally I'd like to haunt my favorite bass, then have it be sold to a pawn shop. I have a few ideas for how to humorously haunt people, so it'll be fun.
I'm holding out for the Singularity, so death isn't really part of the plan. With my new robot body I plan to keep playing bass until the heat death of the universe.

I'm not really sure.... How long do I have to think about it?
Most of my instruments I will leave to whomever in the family would use them. The only exception would be my P bass, which will go with me to my Viking funeral.
