Whatcha watching?

Sunday afternoon we watched Chicken Run. Last night was Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This evening we watched A Boy and his Dog.

Been watching Masters of the Air and True Detective season four. So far so good on both, but I wanted to be a B17 pilot when I was a child so there is a certain amount of bias for anything associated with the flying fortress.
As for True Detective, it’s gone into the surreal early but I hope it resolves without depending on too much hudu.

I don't think it ultimately will - I think the mine pollution is causing hallucinations, the connections to the Yellow King cult from season 1 are definitely there, so who knows where it's going to lead. Personally, I have no problem with there being a large supernatural component, it's entertaining.

If I start watching True Detective, do I need start with season 1?

Just a personal opinion, but the supernatural is a crutch for lazy storytelling, but now that you mention it, this does appear to be yet another take on a long frozen bacteria/virus that has been released by mankind’s meddling where it should not be doing so, much like Fortitude.

Each season stands on it’s own. There have been hints of some connection between 1 and 4, but I think it has more to do with the quality of the story given the less than stellar reaction to the stories in 2 and 3.
that said, season 1 is some of the best TV I’ve watched, but I’ve never been much of a TV watcher until the last year or so, so my opinion is based on a tiny sliver of the complete body of TV work.
