Whatcha watching?

I found Tulsa King on the Pluto TV channel for free, so... I'm watching that. Usually, I watch Ufo/Unexplained shows with William Shatner, on the ROKU channel. More for background noise when I get dressed and make the bed, than anything else. TBH? I'd rather read than watch the television. Comes from growing up in England, where you had to have a license to watch TV - which my father refused to pay for; and spending at least half of my military career painted green and hiding in a hole under a bush. Never could find a hole with a TV in it...;)

Saturday we watched "Cottage Country", which was suggested after watching "Tucker and Dale vs Evil". This one also stars Tyler Labine with Malin Ackerman. It starts as a romantic comedy then becomes dark and twisted (but still funny). And the ending is not what we expected!

It's not a drastic drop off, but I don't like season 2 so far. The protomatter story line isn't nearly as interesting as the show thinks it is, and when this one started her little war chant I couldn't stop laughing. And the captain is an awful protagonist. Holden. He's not charming or likeable or badass or funny or interesting.

Still working my way through the series, so I will air my complaint in good company: Is it just me or does the belter accent slowly morph from South African to a crazy pigeon English type thing?

We've started Battlestar Galactica. I never watch any of the 2004 series when it came out. The original 70's series was so bad it made me totaly averse to the newer one. We just watched te pilot miniseries so far and it's pretty dark - love it.
Finally got through all 76 episodes. Very good show overall with excellent acting and production, but also hit or miss writing. I guess with 20 episodes in a season, they can't all be great, but when they missed it was really bad. It really went off the rails in the three-part finale, which I found to be a real disappointment. Like a few others shows I could name, with make it up as you go plots, the writers backed themselves into corners that they weren't clever enough to escape from in a satisfying way. The final chapter was unbelievable dreck, defying logic from either our perspective or that of the BSG universe. It's disappointing when a long-running, overall entertaining series drops the ball so badly at the end.

I love this show and I love the lore of it. The colonies and the humanoid cylons and all the lost history. All that stuff was great. But it had entirely too much shaky cam, and the last season was annoying. The show really puts forth the idea that there is a supernatural entity making things happen, but they never even come close to exploring that. They just show the effects. What the hell was Starbuck? Why the hell was the code in All Along the Watchtower? She died, and came back to life. I'm fine with that. But you need to explain these things. What's her connection everything? The ending was entirely unsatisfying.

Final season of What We Do in the Shadows is on cable TV (FX), I think streaming on Hulu also (we don't have that). They showed 3 episodes the opening night. Didn't watch, but recorded for closer viewing to All Hallow's Eve.

Ghosts (American version) is back on cable (CBS). Will watch as they come on. My wife insists LOL.

Recorded a few other horror movies for later viewing this month. Notable is The Wicker Man (1973) because I haven't seen this version. Looking forward to checkin' it out. Plan 9 from Outer Space (1957) cult classic. Everyone needs some cheese once in awhile LOL.

In a Halloween mood, so did a rewatch on this one yesterday. 42 years old, and still one of the GOATs.

Absolutely!

This movie gives a real sense of fear and paranoia, the special effects are practical and happening right there in the actors' faces - they're not reacting to CGI/green screen effects they can't see - and the acting is excellent.
