What's on for your "Clean" sound

in one rig it's bass - lomenzo hyperdrive/ cream pie (depending on mood!) - aphex pf - dod meatbox - hartke vxl DI
in the other rig it's - bass - lomenzo - aphex pf - aphex xciter - mxr m80 if required for foh DI -amp (fender bxr300 w marshall 410 (jubilee series))

Being that Im always DRIVING tube amps, I dont really have a clean unless I back off on the strings a bit, but that being said in the past I almost always had my block script Phase 90 turned on with my Shoegazy band. These days Im not digging how much it turds up my tone (used to love that about it) so Im using an MXR Stereo Chorus but Im interested in trying a script Phase 90 since I hear they're cleaner.

I also use an EHX Stereo pulsar and slapback delay setting on my Headrush from time to time but find that most the time if I want that sound it better to switch to my baritone guitar for those songs.

My clean tone is always Submarine -> Boss LMB-3 -> a crap load of EQ'ing on my head. This will soon be augmented by an "always-on" overdrive pedal that I am still searching for. I have yet to find one that fits the bill for my tastes

Big Chief....Try the Vodoo Labs Sparkle Drive....with the clean boost knob it dials in some very faint but transparent and usable grit...and it's not over the top i think it will fit your bill!

For my so called "Clean Tone" i run Bass into my Sparkle Drive and then into a Sansamp RBI with a tweaked SVT Setting.

Right now, a Sansamp ParaDriver. It's a great DI, and a fair preamp in front of my YBA-200-2 (passive EQ on the head). But things sometime get boomy, and while there's a lot more depth, I feel like I'm loosing a bit of liveliness. Then again my strings have been dead for months.

Really, I just want to get a local electrical engineer to take a look at my head and see if he can basically replace the preamp, or at least mod it for Boost/Cut EQ. That might eliminate my use of the PDDI in the chain (have to see how the active EQ on the head affected my dirt pedals in comparison to the PDDI), but I'd still keep it around for studio purposes.
